Enabling Village

Enabling Village Celebrating Singapore's diversity of abilities, right here at the heart of Redhill. We're also home to Tech Able, an assistive technology showcase.

We are a community space built to support the integration and inclusion of able-bodied and disabled persons in Singapore. Besides an information and career centre, we're also home to several social businesses that provide training as well as retail for people with disabilities: cafes and restaurants, an art gallery, preschool, a supermarket, and barrier-free event spaces augmented with braille and hearing loop features. The Enabling Village is an initiative of SG Enable.

Members of the Redhill community came together to create butterflies that now line the walkway from Redhill MRT to Enabling Village. What a great way to bring people together, share about inclusion, and welcome more visitors to Enabling Village. 🫶

Our hearts are full after celebrating Rare Disease Day with Be Kind SG at Mad Roaster. It was such a meaningful way to spark the start of Autoimmune Diseases Awareness Month this March! 💜From moving Open Mic performances to a creative pop-up gallery by our members, it was a beautiful reminder that while some conditions are rare, no one walks this path alone. 🎶✨

At Enabling Village, we love hosting celebrations that bring people together for inclusivity and heart. Whether it’s a song, a poem, or a shared cup of coffee, our spaces are built for community.

Meet Christina! She runs .sg, a cafe in Enabling Village that creates sustainable and meaningful employment opportunities for persons with disabilities. 🍛 She works closely with each individual, encouraging them to grow in confidence, skills, and independence.

Before entering the F&B world, Christina spent six years as a Singapore Airlines stewardess, where she learned that true service is not just about efficiency, but making people feel genuinely seen and cared for. 🫶

Later, while running a cafeteria at Pathlight School, Christina witnessed firsthand how meaningful work can instill confidence in students with disabilities. 🙌 Now with Eat Talk, she hopes to inspire other businesses to embrace inclusive hiring too! 🥳

Congrats Karthik and the team at AWWA for this recognition! Enabling Village is proud to be the home of Kindle Garden Preschool.

By championing inclusive education and holistic teaching methods, children have grown to see friends of all abilities as being just that: friends. 🥹

Watch the full video here!

For Karthik from AWWA, inclusion isn’t a buzzword — it’s a belief. That every child, of every ability, belongs in the same classroom. Here’s how he brought that vision to life.

🧧 Meet Jun Le, the artist behind Junlefont! ✨

Diagnosed with autism at the age of three, Jun Le has never been well-versed in expressing himself verbally. However, he is far more comfortable with communicating his thoughts and feelings through writing, and would transcribe "The Heart Sutra" as a way to practise writing Chinese characters. This practice led to the unexpected creation of a simple and unique font: “Junlefont”! His parents, Bob and Hwee Hwee, helped channel this talent into a dedicated business, empowering Jun Le to support himself through his art.

This Lunar New Year, we partnered with him to create our Year of the Horse Key Visual, exclusive Hongbao design, couplets, and many of the vibrant decorations you see at Enabling Village. Every character is written with focus and care, making his calligraphy truly unique! ❤️

Catch more of Jun Le’s works at i’mable Collective Space, located at Vista Level 2! 🎨
