Behind every “I’m fine” might be a teen carrying pressure, anxiety, comparison, or burnout. 💛
Today’s teens are growing up in a world that never switches off — academic stress, social media, perfectionism, and the pressure to always perform can feel overwhelming.
As parents, educators, and communities, resilience isn’t built through perfection. It’s built through connection, safe conversations, empathy, and support. Sometimes the most powerful thing we can say is: “I’m here to listen.”
According to Clinical Psychologist Kavitha Manokaran:
“You don’t have to be a perfect parent. You need to be a connected one.”
She also reminds us that:
“Resilience is not about having no problems — it’s about having the inner resources and outer support to navigate them.”
A heartfelt thank you to Dulwich College Singapore for inviting Kavitha Manokaran to share such important insights on supporting teen mental health and building resilience in the senior school years.
Because mental health conversations shouldn’t start in crisis. They should start early, openly, and without judgment.
