A hidden parasite every livestock owner should know
What looks like a simple sneeze in sheep or goats can
actuallv be somethina far more serious.
"Oestrus ovis", commonly known as the *sheep nasal bot
fly, is a parasitic fly that affects small ruminants and
causes nasal myiasis (oestrosis)
Here's what makes it dangerous
Instead of laying eggs, the female fly deposits "live larvae
directly into the nostrils of the animal while flying".
These larvae miarate into the **nasal passages and
sinuses, where they grow through multiple stages while
feeding on secretions and irritating the tissues.
This leads to:
• Continuous sneezing
• Nasal discharge
• Breathing difficulty
• Stress and reduced productivity
In severe cases, it can compromise animal welfare anc

🚨 General Situation Report | Drought Emergency 🚨

Ubataale area in Jariiban District is facing severe drought conditions due to a prolonged lack of rainfall. This has caused acute water shortages and loss of pasture, severely affecting pastoral livelihoods.

Camels, goats, sheep, and cattle are weak, sick, or dying from lack of water and grazing. Milk production has dropped sharply, worsening nutrition gaps, especially for children.

3. Social Quotient (SQ): this is the measure of your ability to build a network of friends and maintain it over a long period of time.

People that have higher EQ and SQ tend to go further in life than those with a high IQ but low EQ and SQ. Most schools capitalize on improving IQ levels while EQ and SQ are played down.
