The Final Workshop and Graduation Ceremony of Frontline SOM-FETP Cohort 7 is underway, under the leadership of the Ministry of Health- Somalia and Somalia National Institute of Health
A total of 25 participants from the Federal and State Ministries of Health are presenting final field activities, including surveillance assessments, outbreak investigations, data quality audits, EPI triangulation and community-based surveillance activities. Their work is being evaluated by experts from African Field Epidemiology Network CDC
The program concludes on 10 June 2026, marking the successful graduation of a new cohort of field epidemiologists equipped to strengthen disease surveillance, outbreak response, and public health emergency preparedness across Somalia.

The Frontline FETP is a 3-month, competency-based program that equips health workers with practical skills in surveillance, outbreak investigation, data analysis, and communication. Through โlearning by doing,โ it strengthens our ability to detect, respond to, and contain public health emergencies before they spread .
