Stakeholder Meeting on School-based Immunisation for Migrant Learning Centres

On 19 August 2026, the Borderland Health Foundation/Shoklo Malaria Research Unit (BHF/SMRU) held a stakeholder meeting on the school-based immunisation programme for children attending Migrant Learning Centres (MLCs).
Participants included representatives from the Tak Provincial Public Health Office (Tak PHO), Tak Provincial Administrative Office (Tak PAO), Primary Education Service Area Office 2 (PESAO2), Migrant Education Coordination Centre (MECC), Joint Information and Coordination Centre (JICC), World Health Organisation (WHO), Mae Sot Hospital, Mae Tao Clinic, and BHF/SMRU.
The meeting aimed to present the project overview and implementation plan, gather stakeholder feedback on the proposed target MLCs, and discuss vaccine supply, data management, and data sharing.
The meeting opened with welcome remarks from Professor François Nosten, Director of SMRU, followed by a presentation by Dr Misaki Sugai from the BHF/SMRU EPI Team, outlining the school-based immunisation programme.
Participants shared feedback and recommendations on the proposed target schools and vaccine supply. The meeting also included a discussion on data management and data sharing, led by Nuttapol Panachuenwongsakul and Pyae Phyo Kyaw from the BHF/SMRU Data Team.
BHF/SMRU sincerely appreciates the participation and collaboration of all stakeholders in supporting the implementation of school-based immunisation and improving access to essential health services for migrant children along the Thai–Myanmar border.
