One of the most common questions from parents and students is:
“How many lessons does it take to learn swimming?”
From my personal experience is, every student learns differently, and there are 4important factors:
1. Foundation: Some students are already comfortable in the water, while some start with very little foundation.
2. Frequency of practice: Consistent practice helps the body and muscles remember movements faster.
3. Practice outside the lesson: Swimming is all about muscle memory. We use arms, legs, breathing, and coordination together, so practicing regularly helps children swim more naturally without overthinking.
4. Emotional and Physical readiness: Students who feel relaxed and full of energy in the class often learn faster. This is also why kids sometimes improve faster than adults. They simply try without thinking too much.
For example, the 6-year-old boy in this video started with almost no frog kick foundation and some broken habits. After around 10+ lessons with me, he was able to swim confidently with much better coordination 🤍
Every child has their own pace. Consistency matters more than speed.
