เป็นเกียรติอย่างยิ่งค่ะที่ได้รับเชิญเป็นหนึ่งในผู้ร่วมอภิปรายในหัวข้อการเปลี่ยนกระจกตาเฉพาะชั้นใน (Endokeratoplasty: EK ซึ่งรวมทั้งวิธี DSAEK และ DMEK) ร่วมกับแพทย์ผ่าตัดเปลี่ยนกระจกตาที่มืชื่อเสียงระดับโลกในงานประชุมปีนี้ของ The international Society of cornea, stem cells and ocular surface (SICSSO) congress ที่จัดที่เมืองกรอสเสตโต้ ประเทศอิตาลีระหว่างวันที่ 27-29 มิถุนายน 2567
การผ่าตัดเปลี่ยนกระจกตาเฉพาะชั้นในที่หมอเริ่มทำเป็นตาแรกเริ่มต้นเมื่อ 16 ปีที่แล้ว ที่โรงพยาบาลจักษุรัตนินค่ะ เป็นการผ่าตัดด้วยวิธี DSAEK โดยหมอเป็นผู้แยกชั้นกระจกตาบริจาคก่อนผ่าตัดเอง กระจกตาที่ใช้เป็นกระจกตาบริจาคที่ได้รับจากสภากาชาดไทย เราใช้ส่วนหลังสำหรับผู้ป่วยDSAEKรายแรกค่ะ ส่วนกระจกตาบริจาคส่วนหน้าถูกนำไปใช้กับผู้ป่วยเด็กของหมออีกรายที่ได้รับการผ่าตัดเปลี่ยนกระจกตาเฉพาะส่วนหน้าค่ะ กระจกตาบริจาคหนึ่งดวงจึงได้นำมาใช้กับผู้ป่วยสองราย การผ่าตัดเป็นไปได้ด้วยดี กระจกตาของผู้ป่วยใสจนวันสุดท้ายของชีวิตค่ะ กระเป๋าสตางค์ใบนี้เป็นของขวัญปีใหม่ที่หมอได้รับจากผู้ป่วยท่านนี้ค่ะ ในกระเป๋ามีกระดาษสองใบเล็กๆ เขียนไว้ว่า ขอให้สุขภาพแข็งแรง ร่ำรวยด้วยเงินทองนะคะ รักคุณหมอจากป้า และอีกแผ่นเขียนไว้ว่า ตามความเชื่อของโบราณ ให้กระเป๋าใส่ต้องมีเงินก้นถุง รัก จากป้านะคะ ผู้ป่วยยังให้เบอร์โทรศัพท์มือถือทิ้งไว้เพื่อให้ผู้ป่วยที่หมอจะทำผ่าตัดเป้นรายที่สองสามารถสอบถามเกี่ยวกับการผ่าตัดโดยตรงกับท่านได้ด้วย

It has been such an honor to be among the world authorities in cornea transplant as an invited panelist in the session of the Endothelial Keratoplasty (EK: include DSAEK and DMEK) at this year The international Society of cornea, stem cells and ocular surface (SICSSO) congress in Grosseto, Italy.
My selective posterior lamellar keratoplasty ( Endokeratoplasty or EK) was first performed 16 years ago at Rutnin Eye Hospital, I used my own surgeon-prepared graft for my first DSAEK surgery. The corneal tissue was from Thai red Cross. I used one donor tissue for two recipients, one anterior lamellar cornea transplant patient and this first posterior lamellar cornea transplant (DSAEK surgery) patient. The surgery went well. The graft was still clear until the day the patient passed away. This purse, as a new year gift from her, reminded me about her. There were two little notes and 999 bahts in the purse. In the notes, she wished me healthy and wealthy and explained to me that according to the ancient beliefs, there should be some money in the purse as a starter amount for good luck. She was also willing to gave me her cellphone number for my second EK patient to call her and ask her everything about the surgery.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of my DSAEK and DMEK patients. I would have not been this far without my patients.
