We added StrengtgErg to the gym recently.

It's quickly become a client favourite!

The row function is fairly eh....unforgiving 🤣

What I absolutely love about this piece of kit, is how client friendly it is.

We have a few clients with chronic knee issues and the StrengthErg's leg press function is allowing them to push against force, pain free.

But make no mistake about it, no matter what your level of fitness is, the StrengthErg is going to challenge you 👌

Consistency over intensity is what will get you results. It doesn't matter what your goal is. Dropping body fat, getting stronger, building lean muscle mass. Consistent effort is what will get you there. If you've set yourself a specific goal but you can't see yourself maintaining what you've put in place throughout February and into March then the likelihood of you achieving long lasting results is very very low. Intensive training programmes and restrictive diets have an expiry date. Once you're done, the plan is done and any progress that you've made along the way tends to disappear along with the programme. It's really important for people to understand that you don't need to abuse yourself physically or nutritionally in order to get yourself to where you want to be. The best plan of action is just to pick something that you can stick to consistently over a longer period of time. And this is true for both exercise and nutrition. So what does consistent effort over a period of time look like? My approach would be get into the gym a couple of times per week. Do two total body workouts. You do not have to kill yourself. You do have to put in effort. It does have to be challenging. You just don't have to push yourself to the point of failure every single time you go to the gym. On top of this walk regularly. Eh it's a low intensity form of exercise. You can do it day after day. It doesn't cause any muscle soreness. You're not going to get fatigued and it's just something that will help you increase your energy expenditure during the course of the week. When it comes to nutrition just start off by going after the low hanging fruit.

Consistency > Intensity

This is the one message I'm constantly preaching to clients.

If you can't stick to an exercise programme or follow a diet for more than 6 weeks you're not going to see lasting results.

Introduce an activity and make subtle changes to your diet that you can maintain over a period of time, and you will be pleasantly surprised with what you can achieve!

Improved strength and fitness, pounds of fat lost, clothes fitting better, more energy.

As many of you know, my wife is Thai and I've been visiting Thailand almost every year since 2010. These trips with my wife, extended family and friends have helped me accumulate great local knowledge on where to go, what to see, where to eat etc.

This has all helped me to create a Thai experience like no other where you get to experience the best of Thailand; and I'm not talking about tripadvisors top 10 "must do's" in Thailand. I mean real, authentic Thailand.

So, what's on the agenda for 2026?

Bangkok, luxury riverside accommodation, food tour led by local chefs, a private tour of Ayutthaya (ancient capital of Siamese Kingdom), a rooftop bar or two 👀

Koh Yao Noi, a lesser known gem in Phang Nga Bay, 5 days in paradise, spa treatments, training, beach, pool, once in a lifetime kayak experience, amazing sunrises, and beach-side food and drinks.

Phuket Old Town, boutique hotel, unique, vibrant little town, private distillery tour, cocktail making, cafes, bars and restaurants. A perfect location to finish off the trip!

protein bars are by far my favourite!

They're an Irish company, their bars contain far fewer ingredients compared to other brands, their ingredients come from wholefood sources, the protein comes from milk proteins which is highly absorbable, they're less than 200 calories and they absolutely pass the taste test!

Have you tried them?

If you want to get back in shape, feel strong and fit again and take control of your health, we want to help.

We train small groups of lads, 40+, that want to get stuck back into training.

We keep our numbers small so we can give each client the attention they need in the gym! What does this mean?

We take an individualised approach to our sessions; not only taking into account our clients fitness and strength levels, but also their injury history / niggling issues, and adjusting the plan to suit them.

This approach allows clients to build up consistency,l. From here, the results flow!

We don't get caught up in fitness gimmicks or fad diets.

Instead, we stick with the tried and tested ; a well designed weights programme, nutrition guidance that focuses on the basics and progress tracking.

Send me a message if you want to find out more about joining our lads sessions.
