The results of 2016: 1.3 million real estate options were sold in Turkey
2016 finished with a slight increase in the real estate sales (4%) comparing with the previous year. After the dip in July, sales started to grow, especially during the period between September and November. The total number of sold in Turkey properties within the year is 1 341 453 homes. 17.3% of sales were made in Istanbul, 10.8% of homes were sold in Ankara and 6.1% in Izmir. These top-3 cities have remained the same for already several years.
Among the trends for 2016 experts mention the increasing number of sales involving mortgage loans and new houses. This can be explained by the fact that mortgage rates have been reduced. They were already rather low (1-1.2%) and last year they dropped below 1%. As for new housing market, the number of new residential houses constructed in 2016 increased by 5%. Day of Turkish Republic!

On the 29th of October, we celebrate the 92nd anniversary of the establishment of the Republic of Turkey. This is a big and very important holiday for the Turkish people. The program of celebrations is planned out for the whole day. This, of course, includes Grand Parades and meetings, demonstrations and various concerts in every major city as well as in small towns. The culmination of the celebrations take place in the evening with its spectacular laser shows and fireworks.
A few words about the history of this holiday. Nearly one hundred years ago the legendary statesman and political figure and the defender of his own motherland, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, proclaimed Turkey to be a republic. As its first president, he took a course of modernization and created a new state, which was built on the ruins of the Ottoman Empire in a country that was torn apart by numerous foreign invasions. In the end Turkey was destined to become the first secular state in the Muslim World, where the state and religion are accurately separated.
A number of significant social reforms were carried out in the Republic those days. Women were granted equal rights to men, including the right to vote. A reform of headwear and clothing was meant to cancel headscarf or turban in public offices, schools and universities. The international system of time, calendar, and measurement were accepted. The Arabic writing was replaced by Latin letters.
Since the founding of the Republic important changes were carried out in all areas of life: in legislative, political, educational and economical fields. Modern Turkey now is the first and the only secular state, where the majority of the population is Muslim. Freedom of choice which religion to belong to is guaranteed to every citizen. In Turkey numerous Christian communities, synagogues and mosques coexist peacefully.

ДЕНЬ РЕСПУБЛИКИ В ТУРЦИИ!

Сегодня, 29 октября, в Турции празднуют 92 годовщину со дня образования Турецкой Республики. Это большой и очень значимый праздник для турецкого народа. Программа празднования распланирована на целый день. Это и торжественный парад, и митинги, и демонстрации, и всевозможные концерты, проводимые в каждом крупном городе и малых населенных пунктах. Кульминация праздника приходится на вечер с лазерным представлением и фейерверком.
Немного об истории этого праздника. Почти сто лет назад легендарный государственный и политический деятель и защитник своего отечества Мустафа Кемаль Ататюрк провозгласил Турцию республикой. Являясь ее первым президентом, он взял курс на модернизацию и создание нового государственного устройства на развалинах Османской империи в растерзанной интервентскими вторжениями стране, которой предстояло стать первым светским государством, где власть и религия четко разделялись.
В республике были проведены существенные общественные реформы, изменившие облик страны. Женщинам были предоставлены равные с мужчинами права, в том числе и право голоса на республиканских выборах. Была проведена реформа головных уборов и одежды, отменено ношение платка или тюрбана в общественных государственных учреждениях, в школах и в высших учебных заведениях. Была введена международная система времени, календаря и мер измерения. Арабская вязь была заменена на латинские буквы, адаптированные под турецкий язык.
Со дня основания республики важные преобразования были проведены во всех сферах жизни: правовой, политической, образовательной и экономической. Современная Турция является первым и единственным светским государством, в котором большинство населения исповедует ислам. Свобода вероисповедания гарантирована каждому гражданину страны и здесь мирно соседствуют многочисленные христианские общины, синагоги и мечети.
