MEN: The Daily Hormone Rhythm
WOMEN: The Monthly Hormone Rhythm
MEN - DIURNAL TESTOSTERONE PATTERN | ∼24 Hour Cycle 🚹
• Morning (6am-10am): Testosterone typically peaks. Many men report higher alertness, focus, and energy during this window.
• Midday (10am-2pm): Testosterone remains relatively elevated. This often aligns with periods of productivity and sociability for some.
• Afternoon (2pm-6pm): Testosterone begins a gradual decline. Energy levels may decrease for some people, depending on sleep, stress, and activity.
• Night (8pm-5am): Testosterone reaches its daily low point. The body focuses on rest and repair. Levels start rising again during sleep.
Note: This pattern varies with age, sleep quality, stress, and health.
WOMEN - MENSTRUAL CYCLE PATTERN | Average 28 Days, Range 21-35 Days 🚺
• Follicular Phase (Approx. Days 1-14): After menstruation, estrogen gradually rises. Some people report increased energy, mental clarity, and motivation.
• Ovulation Phase (Approx. Day 14): Estrogen peaks, LH surges, and testosterone briefly increases. Libido and sociability may increase for some.
• Luteal Phase (Approx. Days 15-28): Progesterone rises and estrogen fluctuates. If pregnancy doesn't occur, both hormones decline late in this phase. Some experience PMS symptoms like lower energy or mood shifts.
• Menstrual Phase (Approx. Days 1-5): Estrogen and progesterone are at their lowest. The uterine lining sheds. Fatigue or discomfort are common but not universal.
Note: Cycle length and symptoms vary significantly between individuals.
