WHO staff has been on the ground since the beginning of the Hantavirus cruise ship situation which came to its attention around May 2nd

Many categories of staff were immediately sent to Tenerife, where the ship was located at the time of the first notification, to manage passengers disembarking

This included Infection Prevention and Control specialists to guide quarantine protocols and disinfection

Risk communication specialists who liaised with the Governments of all the passengers

Border Health Specialists

And many others

They coordinated specially chartered flights with 8 countries to transport passengers home without exposing the general public

They reactivated their response protocols with the International Labour Organization which regulates shipping to ensure full sanitisation of the ship

They have activated meetings to review all the evidence on transmission, diagnostics, treatments etc. that are expected to have over 1000 various specialists in attendance

Nothing can change the facts for those already exposed on the cruise ship

But they are all being monitored closely so that any symptoms can be treated immediately

And are all under appropriate biocontainment protocols to protect the public

Ageing and immune system decline go hand in hand

But it doesn't have to be as steep a decline if we follow some basics

Healthy, balanced diet full of natural things: vegetables, fruits, fibre, fermented foods etc

Exercise again!!

And even a bit of intermittent fasting to stimulate 'clean out' mechanisms (and you know we Trinis love a 'clean out'!)

And yes... Don't forget appropriate vaccinations like those against Shingles, Pneumonia and Influenza etc
