Have you ever noticed how, sometimes, even during moments of 'relaxation', you may not actually feel quite so relaxed?

Your body is slightly tensed.

Your thoughts are anywhere but in the present moment.

Your breath is fast & shallow.

That's the funny thing about life: external circumstances can help you to relax, but you are really the one driving your inner experience. And in your inner experience, you may never know how to deeply relax & regulate.

Deep relaxation, or regulation, is intentionally practiced, otherwise it passes you by...

Sometimes being in Nature, seeing something awe-inspiring, can spontaneously trigger this sense of regulation & regulation without you even having to try.

But maintaining this state and knowing how to bring it back online is the key. This is the state in which deep healing & integration happens.

It's why I spent years studying this response, how to amplify it within us, whilst deeply being with our humanity. I teach my clients the same.

If this sort of Mind-Body integration resonates with you, send me a DM and let's work together ✨

I'm on leave for the next few weeks - my first for the year! Not too sure about SM activity as I prioritise our journey here in the Himalayas... But let's see 🀩

Meanwhile, here is wishing everyone everywhere health, comfort, and safety from my little nook in the mountains to wherever in the world you might be reading this from πŸ€πŸ™πŸΌ

It came as a bit of a surprise when my top song this year was Listen With Your Heart from the Pocahontas soundtrack ✨

The surprise was because I hadn't realised I'd listened to it as much as I had this year, making it go all the way to my No. 1 - but the unsurprising part is that I've indeed had to lean deeeeeply into cultivating the skill of listening to my heart, especially this year. Starting my own consultancy, working with patients and clients as a practitioner, sitting in their suffering to understand, identify, and bring about balance, navigating my own dharma and role in this world... It's been a lot of listening with my heart Vs being caught in my Ego.

This year has been blessed, precious, and even with its many hardships - still one of the best in my life πŸ™πŸΌ thank you to ALL my amazing clients and patients - you've been some of my greatest teachers this year πŸ™πŸΌ

Also, if you haven't heard this song before, it's a short one, but so beautiful I can't recommend it enough!

Just my lunch from a few days ago - a mix of easily digestible foods (for me) including veggies like brinjal and broccoli, organic rice and lentils, lots of healthy spices like turmeric, cumin, pepper, coriander seed, some ginger, homemade lemon pickle (natural probiotics!), and black sesame rice ✨

Do you include any natural probiotics in your meals?

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of going for the most delicious fun and vegan Harry-Potter themed dinner hosted by
Here is my meal from that day - a medley of gluten-free, vegan scrumptiousness: pasta with sauce, baked tofu, and salad with edible flowers.

And yes - on the third slide is vegan Butterbeer! And it was exactly like how I thought it would be! πŸ₯Ή

How you eat your food can be as important as what you eat. When you're stressed, distracted, and disconnected from your food - you will not digest it as well. Ayurveda also talks about how the energy with which one's food is prepared impacts digestion. The love behind this meal was certainly palpable - and for this, I thank you and Jacinda πŸ€— friends in Singapore - do check them out if you're looking for new delicious food options!

Nutrition post on Sesame -- sesame seeds are a wonderful whole foods source of important nutrients like iron, calcium, zinc and potassium. If you follow a seed cycling protocol for your menstrual cycle, they're an important seed to take during your luteal phase.

Here I had a delicious dairy-free coffee-free black sesame soy latte, to support my luteal phase and increase my body's chances for absorbing said nutrients!

How do you like to have black sesame?

Nutrition Post! Another habit I like to encourage clients with is to follow their biological clock in conjunction with their climate, meaning - eat between sunrise and sunset, try to fast otherwise. Our digestive fire tracks along with the sun's movements - it's strongest at midday when the sun is highest in the sky. Midday is when we should ideally be eating our largest meal, with smaller breakfasts and dinners.

Here's my lunch from a few days ago: rice, dal, tofu, veggies, pickled ginger, and home made curry leaf powder. Definitely the largest meal of my day - and very delicious!

Nutrition Post on MUSHROOMS! - Here're some freshly foraged garden mushrooms from my Dad's garden, which were then sauteed with capsicum and spices to be made even yummier.

Mushrooms can have amazing medicinal properties including being immunomodulating (i.e. helping your immune system to do its best job) and improving memory.

How do you like to eat your mushrooms?

Nutrition/Nourishment Post - RUBUS IDEAUS /Red Raspberry Leaf: part of my morning routine always includes drinking a warm beverage. In seasons where I feel my menstrual cycle requires a little extra love & support, I drink a warm tea made of Rubus ideaus (or red raspberry) leaves in my luteal phase (the 2nd half of the menstrual cycle). This herb is so lovely, it might be in my top 5 favourite herbs in the world! (Would you like me to do a post on my other favourites?)

Red raspberry leaf is an astringent uterine tonic, acting specifically on the smooth muscle of the uterus (that class of muscle that can't be controlled by us consciously).

The taste and smell of this herb, to me, is divine - almost sweet, soothing, and nourishing. I drink a few cups of this tea a day, when I feel I need it.

Being a menstruating individual is actually magical - when I have the space to ground into the energy of a cycle, the healing and growth therein are profound.

If you'd like support with your cycle through herbs and energetics, do know I live for this. Send me a DM! The energetics of a cycle are especially important to incorporate into a healing practice, and then combined with herbs, amazing things start to happen βœ¨πŸ€πŸ™πŸΌ

Nutrition Post - dinner from the other day, which I ate at 430pm: grilled sea bass in banana leaf, grilled rice, and steamed veggies. Very simple and very delicious!

Another aspect of nutrition I like to talk to clients about is the question of WHEN to eat. At the appropriate meal time seems like the obvious answer, but in today's world of easy access to food, we've become so used to eating at meal times (or whenever else) that we don't actually pay attention to whether we're really hungry or not. A more accurate answer should thereby be that we should eat only when we feel TRULY hungry. For many people, they may not know what true hunger feels like in their bodies. For some, it's a rumbly tummy, for others it could be fatigue - as a practitioner I've found that true hunger manifests differently in everyone. When you are truly hungry though, your body is primed to digest and assimilate the food you are about to give it to the best of your ability - and this is soo important for optimal digestion.

Do you eat only when you feel true hunger?
