Reservation Consultant

We are looking for another enthusiastic and detail-oriented Reservation Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, a passion for customer service, and the ability to manage multiple bookings efficiently.
Some of the responsibilities are, but not limited to:

* Handle reservations via email, phone, and online platforms in a timely and professional manner
* Provide accurate information on services, rates, availability, and policies
* Process bookings, amendments, and cancellations efficiently
* Coordinate with operations, sales, and accounts departments to ensure smooth service delivery
* Deliver exceptional customer service and build long-term relationships with clients

Required:
1) Diploma or Degree in Tourism, Hospitality, or a related field
2) Minimum 2 – 5 years of experience in reservations, preferably in a hotel or DMC or safari operator
3) Excellent written and spoken English (additional languages are an advantage)
4) Proficient in MS Office
5) Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
6) Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively
7) Friendly, professional, and customer-focused attitude

Purpose of the Role:

To ensure that all company vehicles, workshop activities, and operational processes meet the required safety, quality, and performance standards, supporting smooth and reliable daily operations.

Responsibilities :
1) Conduct regular inspections of all company vehicles (cleanliness, stickers, air freshener, bins, seats, etc. - daily/weekly checks)
2) Ensuring drivers are always in looking presentable (groomed, clean uniform, clean shoes, etc.)
3) Ensure vehicles are roadworthy, clean and compliant with company standards
4) Monitor and verify that all repairs and maintenance are properly completed
5) Identify and report damages, defects, or irregularities immediately
6) Supervise workshop activities to ensure quality of repairs and servicing
7) Ensure all work is completed within acceptable timelines
8 ) Monitor mechanic performance and accountability
9) Ensure all accidents, damages and breakdowns are reported immediately
10) Investigate incidents and prepare clear, factual reports
11) Follow up to ensure corrective actions are implemented
12) Monitor daily operations to ensure service delivery standards are met
13) Conduct spot checks on drivers, transfers, and excursions
14) Ensure drivers adhere to: Reporting procedures, Vehicle care standards, Company policies

On Tanzania’s coast lies Bagamoyo, a town whose history carries both deep sorrow and quiet resilience. Its name is often linked to the phrase meaning “lay down your heart” — a reflection of the despair felt by enslaved people who reached this point at the end of long, brutal journeys from the interior.

In the 19th century, Bagamoyo was a major hub of the East African slave and ivory trade, where caravans met the Indian Ocean routes. It was also a place of encounter: Arab traders, European missionaries, explorers, and local communities all left their mark. Figures such as David Livingstone passed through here, and early missionary settlements took root alongside sites of immense human suffering.

Doors That Speak 🚪

In Zanzibar’s Stone Town, doors are not merely entrances — they are declarations. Carved from heavy hardwood and framed with intricate designs, these doors once announced a family’s status, origin, and influence long before a word was spoken.

Indian-style doors, often rounded at the top with delicate floral carvings, reflected merchant wealth and trade connections. Arab doors, heavier and more restrained, signaled authority and lineage. Brass studs — both decorative and symbolic — hinted at protection, prosperity, and power.

Each motif tells a story: chains for security, lotus flowers for purity, dates for abundance. Even the placement of the door within a building spoke volumes about social hierarchy and privacy.

Long before Zanzibar became a tropical idyll, it was the beating heart of the global spice trade. Cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, black pepper, and vanilla shaped the island’s economy — and its destiny.

Introduced and cultivated under Omani rule in the 19th century, cloves in particular transformed Zanzibar into the world’s leading producer, drawing merchants from Arabia, India, and Europe. These spices were more than flavour; they were currency, power, and global connection.

Spice farms still dot the island today, quiet reminders of a time when Zanzibar was known as the “Spice Islands.” The scents linger in the air, in local cuisine, and in Swahili culture itself — layered, complex, and deeply rooted.
