Our mission is to provide advocacy, education, support and public awareness to all individuals and families affected by mental illnesses, to build better lives. We focus on reducing stigma and improving the mental healthcare systems in Uganda. Our goal is to see that mental health care services are given a priority because many times people of unsound mind always need care more than any other pers
on because their lives are at risk. Advocacy
We advocate for policies, budget allocations on mental health by the government. Our aim is manly raising awareness on mental health issues and ensuring that mental health is on the national agenda of governments. We hope to lead to improvements in policy, legislation and service development.
2. Education and awareness
Stigma and discrimination are among the biggest barriers that persons with psychosocial and intellectual disabilities face in Uganda. We are at the forefront of raising awareness on mental health with the intension of diminishing stigma and discrimination that is deeply ingrained in society.
3. Supporting people with mental illnesses
People with unsound mind always need our support because they can hardly make reasonable decisions. We help support mental patients roistering on the streets of Kampala and other cities to help them access public psychiatric hospitals like Butabika National referral hospital and Mulago hospital.
4. Public Awareness on mental health
Also, our goal is to encourage people to talk and listen, the organization provides information and resources such as:
