Therapy Activity Spotlight

In this physical therapy session, our student is standing with one foot on each side of a tire to work on their balance, head control, core strength, and body awareness. Activities like this also help improve coordination and build the confidence needed for everyday movements.

Isaiah’s journey continues…

A year ago, Isaiah took his first steps with the support of our amazing physical therapist and his KAFO braces.

Today, he’s climbing the play structure steps and going down the slide independently!

Every milestone is worth celebrating. Through consistent therapy, determination, and the support of his family and therapists, Isaiah continues to grow stronger and more confident every day.

We’re so proud of you, Isaiah! 💜

If your child has missed developmental milestones, developmental delays, or has a disability, reach out to us. Early intervention can make a meaningful difference, and we’re here to support your child’s journey every step of the way.

💜 Thursday Tip

Talk to your child throughout the day.

Everyday moments are opportunities to build language skills. Describe what you’re doing, name objects, ask simple questions, and respond to your child’s sounds, words, or gestures.

Whether you’re getting dressed, preparing a meal, or taking a walk, these conversations help develop vocabulary, communication, and social interaction.

📩 If you have concerns about your child’s speech, language, or overall development, early intervention can make a meaningful difference. Contact Tunaweza Children’s Centre to learn how we can support your child to reach their fullest potential.

Sandpit play is more than just fun, it’s a sensory experience that supports children’s overall development. As children dig, scoop, pour, and build, they explore different textures, strengthen the small muscles in their hands, and develop fine motor skills needed for everyday tasks like writing.

Sensory play is extremely important for children with special needs as it provides meaningful opportunities to explore, learn, and engage with the world around them.

Friday means fresh air, Physical Education (PE), extra outdoor play, and even bigger smiles!

Our students had a wonderful time exploring, climbing, playing, and building confidence on our play structure. Climbing, balancing, and sliding may look simple, but these activities play an important role in early childhood development. As they climb, they are strengthening their muscles, improving balance and coordination, develop problem-solving skills, and build confidence.

Learning through play helps children grow physically, socially, and emotionally, and today was filled with all of the above!
