Today, the government has officially launched locally manufactured test kits for HIV, malaria, and sickle cell disease, alongside the updated national HIV testing algorithm.

While presiding over the event, the Rt. Hon. Prime Minister emphasized that this initiative is a strategic effort to protect and nurture Uganda’s local industries, ensuring that national investments drive sustainable economic growth, create jobs, and strengthen long-term health system resilience. This is a major step forward for the policy.
