Life at DRI is full of learning, connection, and community, and it all happens under one campus.

Our residential and day programs work hand in hand. Each morning, participants come together in the Activity Center to develop skills around our PAES program, engage in creative projects, and community building. In the Vocational Center, our folks build job skills through hands-on work, including producing DRI's own chili blend and prepping Perini's famous pepper bites.

The zoo came to us!

A huge thank you to Ruthy, Reanna, Lucy and the Abilene Zoo team for bringing "The Zoo to You" to Disability Resources! 🦎🐢🦜 Our Folks loved the opportunity to learn about and interact with amazing animals up close.

We got to see a hawk, a lizard, an armadillo, and a possum! What an experience!

On World Humanitarian Day, we're honoring the people who make DRI run: our staff.

Walk through any of our homes, and you'll see it. A team member helping someone work toward a goal. Another leading an afternoon activity in the Activity Center. Someone else just being the familiar, steady face our folks count on every morning. They show up with patience, warmth, and genuine care, and our folks feel it.

🎃🍂We are excited to invite you and your family to Disability Resources, Inc.'s Fall Fest & Pumpkin Patch on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at 3602 N. Clack Street, Abilene, TX 79601.

The event will feature a pumpkin patch along with food trucks, vendors, games, hay rides, train rides, live music, art performances, face painting, and more. 🌭

Best of all, there is no admission fee!

This will be a fun-filled day for the entire community, and we would love you to bring your friends, family members, and neighbors and enjoy a day of fellowship, entertainment, and fall activities while supporting the individuals we serve.🍂

Some of the best friendships are the ones built side by side, doing everyday things together.

At DRI, our folks form lasting bonds through shared activities, group outings, vocational projects, and the simple rhythm of daily life on campus. These friendships bring encouragement, laughter, and a sense of belonging that makes each day on campus a little brighter.

Through shared meals, activities, encouragement, and time spent together, friendships form naturally in an environment built on inclusion and care.

These connections are more than moments. They are an important part of what helps folks feel supported, valued, and at home.

💛 The 26th Annual West Texas Dove Hunt Classic is almost here, and it's shaping up to be a great one!
Join us October 2nd & 3rd for a weekend packed with fellowship, friendly competition, and giving back!
We’ll kick things off Friday with registration and🍕 lunch with our Folks here at DRI, followed by a lively field day at Norm’s and our first round of hunting.
The fun keeps rolling with our Heptathlon Showdown, an exciting auction, live music 🎸🎤, and seriously delicious food all weekend long. Experience the fun this October!
