This morning we had the privelage of visiting the CTS Lonestar data center to conduct a Helicopter Safety / Landing Zone class.

To say we were impressed with the brainstorming, prep, and ex*****on in establishing an amazing helipad, would be an understatement. The helipad and surrounding area is phenomenal. As an aircrew member we thank you for the forethought of allowing a helipad and area big enough for crews not to have to worry about anything in respect to landing or departing.

We appreciate the hospitality and professionalism of everyone from CTS Lonestar and Amphibious Medics who attended the training. We look forward to the professional relationship.

This week's hitch will be bittersweet as we bid a fond farewell to one of our medcrew teams. This is the last hitch for Bekah Morales and Jeremy Beal, aka "The B-Team" (Bekah and Beal) with Air Evac. Today is Bekah's last shift and Saturday will be Jeremy's last shift.

At the conclusion of this morning's shift change, we surprised them with a small, light-hearted going-away gathering.

Bekah has been with us since July 2022 and has assisted over 395 families as a Flight Nurse. She will be leaving Air Evac to pursue her dream of becoming a Nurse Practitioner as well as spend more time with her family.

Jeremy has made headlines this week with his birthday and 10th anniversary with Air Evac. He has helped more than 915 families through the air as a Flight Paramedic. He will be leaving Air Evac to pursue his dream of hiking the Appalachian Trail, a 2,200-mile journey.

Both will be truly missed at Air Evac 63, leaving big shoes to fill. They will be deeply missed around the base and the Big Country, having brought an enormous amount of experience and expertise to our base.

We wish you both a fond farewell and blue skies as you continue to reach for the stars. Thank you both for the fond memories, friendship, and legacy you leave behind.

We appreciate each and everyone of you who allowed us to help today. We left base at 11:51am and returned at 7:59pm. Talk about a full days pay for a full days work.

Thank you Jenessa and Derrick for for hanging in there and working without lunch in order to help one family at a time.

Today we want to recognize a milestone 10th year Anniversary with Air Evac to Flight Paramedic Jeremy Beal!!! Thank you for the over 900 families helped through the air and the innumerable families helped on the ground or through the folks you have trained.

He joins a short list of employees at Air Evac 63, who have exceeded the 10 year milestone.

We are proud to have Jeremy on the team. If you work in the EMS field you have most likely seen him wearing different hats, although he prefers caps. Over the last 10 years he has added a few more names to his credentials: Flight Paramedic, Instructor, Nurse, and most recently Single Engine Land - Pilot.

When he's not flying you may find him teaching ACLS, PALS, LZ-Helicopter Safety classes or running an Instructor course.

His new found passion is flying as a pilot. He and his wife Anita cut down the windshield time going to visit their children by personally flying to see them.

Jeremy we are truly thankful for everything you bring to the team. Your mentorship, teaching, instructing, and sense of humor are unmatched. Thank You!!

Taking pride in your equipment goes farther than just being the technical experts in your equipment.
In order to trust your equipment you have to maintain your equipment in a high state of readiness.

We have 3 sets of eyes look at our aircraft every 24 hours. The Aviation Maintenance Technician conducts his daily checks by looking over the aircraft each day. Every 12 hours we have pilot shift change where the pilot coming on duty conducts their preflight inspection of the aircraft.

One of the steps to maintaining an aircraft is ensuring you have a regular wash schedule to keep it clean.

Maintaining a clean aircraft is essential for safety, fuel efficiency, and structural longevity.

Proper aircraft cleaning prevents corrosion, removes aerodynamic drag, and allows crews to easily spot anything out of the norm.

Why Aircraft Cleanliness Matters:

Performance: Dirt and bug splatters disrupt airflow, which increases drag and causes the aircraft to burn more fuel.

Maintenance: Removing grime allows mechanics to quickly inspect for fluid leaks, corrosion, or wear and tear.

Equipment
Reliability: Dirt or oil residue on external antennas and sensor covers can hinder signal transmission and reception.
