DAV36 In Abilene Texas DAV 36 is an all-volunteer staff, not open every day of the week. We are open FIRST & THIRD TUESDAYS of EVERY MONTH, 10 a.m.

to 2 p.m., to assist Veterans with filing a claim for service-connected disability and answer questions about VA benefits.

Good morning Veterans,

Another successful membership meeting last night. Several visitors—one joined the Chapter! We also had two Veterans via Google Meet—a good start we hope increases with more Veterans watching the meeting online.

Here are photos from last night’s meal.

The next membership meeting will be Tuesday, October 6th, 1830 hours. Meal TBD. Hope to see many more there.

Reminder, tonight is the monthly Chapter Membership Meeting, 6:30 p.m.

We will have deli trays (meats, cheese, crackers), fruit and vegetable trays.

We will be trying something new tonight. For those unable to attend, you can click on the below link, to attend the meeting virtually.

Good Monday afternoon Veterans,

For tomorrow's (1 September) membership meeting (6:30 pm), we will be having deli trays (meat, cheese, crackers, fruit and vegetable) for the meal.

As is typical with food at meetings, we may begin a little after 6:30. We will also be trying something new.

In addition to in-person, we will be holding the meeting on Google Meet, so people who cannot attend in person, they can join us via the computer.

This link will be the same one we use each time we meet virtually.

For those who will join via the link, as with any new technical, we ask for your patience when we start it.

Good Friday morning Veterans,

As we approach the end of August, here are upcoming chapter events for September—the first of the “ber” months.

Tuesday, September 1st:

Claims Service Day, 9 am to 2 pm.
Membership Meeting, 6:30 pm
(We will have meat, crackers, cheese, fruit and vegetable trays)

Friday September 10 through 19th

West Texas Fair and Rodeo
Volunteers needed to work our slots.
We will discuss at the meeting.

The temperature is still at 100+ and no cooling down on the forecast. Friendly reminder, if outside—work or recreation, to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, take frequent breaks and in shaded areas. Most importantly, be safe.

Good morning Veterans,

Happy Friday! Already another positive chapter week done. Time flies and fast!

A successful day yesterday at the GRIT Veterans Resources Fair. Lot of Veterans showed up, and we handed out a lot of business cards and information flyers. Thank you to Robin Talley, Mark Bottila, Bryan Lovett, and John Guttenberg for helping out.

Wednesday August 26:
Executive Board Meeting 10 a.m.

Thursday August 27:
Coffee, Donuts, Conversation, and Camaraderie, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Friendly reminder, the West Texas heat continues to be in the 100+ degrees. Please stay hydrated, wear sunscreen if outside, and take frequent breaks in the shade.

Good Friday morning Veterans,

Another week coming to an end, hope it has been well.

DAV 36 will be at the Abilene Gun Show (Convention Center) tomorrow 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Reminder, to stay hydrated and take frequent breaks if you are outside. Please be safe in all you do. It is still hot outside and no rain on any forecast.
