🌿🦌 LATE-SUMMER BUG PROTECTION — WITH A TIP FOR OUR HUNTERS!
Don’t put the bug spray away just because fall is getting closer! Mosquitoes, ticks, chiggers and other biting insects can still be active well into late summer and fall, especially when you’re hiking, camping, hunting, working outside or spending long days in the woods.
In today’s video, Gabe is talking about a few of our favorite options at Whole Health Center for outdoor protection — including something specifically useful for hunters.
🌱 TREK Natural Insect Repellent
TREK is a DEET-free, plant-based insect repellent made with geranium, lemongrass, peppermint and cedarwood essential oils. It’s also water-based, seed-oil-free and designed to dry without that heavy, greasy feeling many bug sprays leave behind.
🌿 Neem Oil
Neem has a long history of use in natural outdoor and garden applications and is one of those versatile oils we love having around during bug season. Use topical on yourself and the garden!
🦌 Atlas Cedarwood + Texas Cedarwood — especially interesting for our hunters!
Here’s where Gabe’s outdoorsman knowledge comes in. Hunters work hard to control human scent, because a deer’s nose is incredibly sensitive. Cedar is commonly used as a cover scent—the idea is to help your scent blend more naturally with a cedar/wooded environment rather than walking into the woods smelling like perfume, fragranced body products or other unfamiliar odors. Even wildlife agencies mention cedar as an option for giving hunting clothing an outdoors scent.
Important: cover scent doesn’t make a hunter invisible to a deer’s nose—playing the wind and reducing human odor are still critical.
🏕️ Whether you’re hunting, hiking, camping, fishing, working in the yard or just enjoying these last warm weeks outdoors, stop by Whole Health Center and check out our natural outdoor options.
