Our Vermont Hospice team recently held two heartfelt veteran pinning ceremonies for Steven and Robert, recognizing the service and sacrifice of the veterans in our care. These moments are deeply meaningful to our clients, their families, and our caregivers, serving as a powerful reminder of the importance of personalized, respectful end-of-life care.

Veteran recognition is a vital part of our mission and drives our Salute to Service efforts nationwide. Through these ceremonies, we honor those who have served and reaffirm our commitment to delivering care with the dignity every client deserves.

Many newborns are diagnosed with one of these and require skilled home care nursing to monitor for impending heart failure or other complications. In 2008, BAYADA Transitional Care Program Director Susie Ecker Sterner received the first-ever Ann Baiada Excellence Award. After the ceremony, her daughter Kelsey gave her a handmade card that read, “I want to be like you.”

Seventeen years later, Kelsey—now a BAYADA nurse herself—was nominated for the same award. When she opened the envelope from her mom, she found that very same card.
