Warning - long post. See my t-shirt in this photo? It says "HEROES WORK HERE". Jessica Carl is the young lady next to me, and she is one of my heroes. Jessie came to me for a job about a month after I took over the pharmacy and we have been together ever since. No experience, no background, no training, just a great attitude and a willingness to work and learn. We hit some rough patches, but for some reason, I kept believing in her. In return, she kept rising above and became an absolute cornerstone of Sumpter Pharmacy. She is a fantastic pharmacy tech, patient advocate, a genuinely caring person, awesome mom of 3 great kids, and a true friend. If you are one of our patients, trust me when I tell you she has done more for you than you will ever know. She has done more for me than I will ever know.

A few years ago, Jessie moved from Adel to Stuart. I thought I might lose her then, but she's been commuting ever since. An opportunity presented itself only minutes from home, and I can't blame her for wanting to regain the commute time in order to spend more time with her family. Wednesday 8/20 will be her last day with Sumpter Pharmacy, but she will forever be one of my heroes, and my friend. 💓
