We brought it up a few weeks ago, but July is also Pet Hydration Awareness Month, so it's the perfect time start building better water habits for your pets because most won't tell you when they're thirsty! 🚰

Dehydration can lead to fatigue, overheating, and medical emergencies. Make sure pets always have access to clean, cool water β€” especially after walks, playtime, or car rides.

Here's some quick hydration tips:

βœ… Refresh water bowls daily
βœ… Add ice cubes or switch to wet food for extra moisture
βœ… Bring a portable bowl when you’re out and about

Let's keeps our pets happy, hydrated, and healthy this July and for the rest of the summer going forward!

Each July, thousands of pets go missing, especially around the 4th when fireworks and BBQs are in full effect, and open doors make it easier for scared animals to slip out of sight. πŸ•πŸ’¨

That's why Lost Pet Prevention Month is a great reminder to double-check your pet safety game plan. Start out simple:

🏷️ Is your pet wearing a collar with updated ID tags?
πŸ“² Do you have a recent photo of them saved on your phone?
πŸ“‘ Is their microchip registered with current contact info?

Before enjoying the 4th this Friday, take some time to talk with friends and family and get everyone on the same page about your pet safety protocols and escape plan.

Pet parents! Can you believe we're already halfway through the year? At this point in the year, it's a great time to pause and check in on the health and happiness of our pets. 🐢🐱

Our furry companions enrich our lives every day. Are their vaccinations up to date? How's their diet and exercise doing? It's our responsibility to make sure they're taken care of.

And taking a moment now can help keep your pet healthy and happy for the rest of 2025 and for many more years to come. πŸ‘

Your pets can't tell you when they're too hot. But their bodies will, and by the time that happens, things might already be serious. That's why it's important to know what to look for before it becomes an emergency.

Watch for these signs of heat stress:

πŸ₯΅ Rapid or heavy panting
πŸ₯΅ Excessive drooling
πŸ₯΅ Glazed eyes or disorientation
πŸ₯΅ Bright red gums or tongue
πŸ₯΅ Vomiting, collapse, or wobbliness

If you notice any of these, get them into shade, give them cool (not cold) water, and call your vet right away.

Before you leash up and head out, take a minute to do the pavement test: Place the back of your hand on the sidewalk or road for 7 seconds. If it's too hot for you, it's too hot for your pet's paws. 🐾

Paved surfaces and sidewalks might not look dangerous in the summer, but they can reach over 130Β°F on particularly sunny days. Enough to burn skin in under a minute.

So if you think you can make an omelet on the pavement outside, maybe swap the sidewalk for grass, a nice trail, or even just a chill playday inside. ✨

Along with the sunshine adventures ahead for you and your pet also comes the less glamorous side of pet parenting: fleas and ticks. And these pests can show up fast and stick around longer than you'd like.

Fleas and ticks are a problems year-round for pets, but they can get particularly active during the summer. Even if your pet seems totally fine, do regular checks anyway as fleas and ticks are quite good at hiding.

Some spots to keep an eye on include:

🐾 Base of the tail
🐾 Areas with plenty of fur (back and belly)
🐾 In their ears
🐾 On their neck
🐾 Between their toes

Make sure to check and keep areas that your pet frequents clean to avoid full infestations as well. A little prevention now can save you and your pet a lot of scratching later on.

Here's to a happy, itch-free summer! ✨

Let's get the obvious out of the way; pets can't talk. With words at least. But despite this, they tell us that they love us every day. How is that? Simple. It's in their actions.

They way their tails wag whenever you walk into a room. The way they follow you around the home. Their unflinching companionship, through chaos and calm. Every pet shows love differently.

So what's your pet's love language? And how do you show your love for them?

Summer's basically here, and with it comes those scorching hot summer days. So staying on top of hydration needs β€” for yourself and your pets β€” is so important. πŸ’§

Sometimes, it's having extra bottles of water handy during summer walks and sometimes it's as simple as putting out an extra bowl near your pet's favorite play spots in and around the home.

Here's your reminder: grab your water bottle, keep your pet's water bowl filled, and everyone involved will be all good. 😎

On any given day you might catch your pets doing stuff that comes off as a little quirky. But most of the time, your pet is doing what they're wired to do. 🧠🐾

Behaviors you might see as bizarre routines and peculiar habits are often how pets communicate. And if you pay attention, you'll start to understand what they're trying to say. So the next time your pet bursts onto the scene with quirky antics, lock in. They might be trying to tell you something. πŸ‘‚βœ‹

Imagine you're in a room full of strangers. Do you dive right in or park yourself near a back wall and check imaginary work emails? In a way, our pets have their own versions of this, too. πŸΆπŸ“³

Meeting new people can be a lot β€” for pets and people. Some pets are social butterflies while other retreat to their safe spots, watching from under the couch or behind your legs. And both are totally cool.

Just remember:

🐾 Start slow and gradually.
🐾 Let the pet make the first move.
🐾 Positive reinforcement is key.
🐾 Teach people how to interact with your pet.
🐾 Supervise, supervise, supervise!
🐾 Be patient.
🐾 Create a safe space for you pet for when things get to be a bit too much.

The best thing you can do is letting them set the pace. Give them space, let them warm up on their terms, and trust they'll come around when they're ready.
