Strap In y’all. This Is long but Important for me to tell you:
“All good things must come to an end,” as the old saying goes.
With that in mind, Arkham Tattoo will close its doors on January 31st, 2026.
I opened Arkham on June 22nd, 2007 with the help of some incredible friends and co-workers. At 40, starting my own business wasn’t even on my radar, but the opportunity appeared, and I went after it with everything I had. I worked 6–7 days a week for the better part of nine months and built what I could doing the only job I’ve ever truly loved.
Over the years we’ve moved locations three times, and where we are now has been the perfect home. In 18 years, the shop has survived a minor flood, raccoons in the ceiling, a landlord who refused to fix a roof that literally rained into the bathroom, a pandemic shutdown, and even a partial building collapse on a random Tuesday—with three of us inside. No s**t.
Through all of that, we kept going.
Speaking for myself, I’ve met, worked on, and worked alongside people I’m lucky to still call friends today. This career has given me the chance to travel, to meet an amazing cross-section of people from all walks of life, and to work with several charitable organizations—something I’m passionate about. My experience in this craft is richer because of all of you. I cannot even put a dent in the “Thank you” list of all people I want to express that too.
So if you’re reading this, you’ve been part of Arkham’s orbit in some way. For that, I cannot express how grateful I am. Truly.
I’m 58 now and ready to explore other interests. And honestly, that desire lines up with the hard reality that running a small business—let alone keeping it afloat—is more difficult now than at any time in my 31 years of tattooing.
I’m not retiring. Arkham is.
I’ll continue tattooing in a limited capacity; I just don’t yet know where. When I do, I promise I’ll let you know.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for the support. And thank you for all the good times over the years.
As far as our Annual Holiday Benefit on Sat, December the 13th. IT IS STILL ON! This will obviously be the last one Marc,Thom, Sally and I will be able to do. So hopefully we’ll see you there.
Love you, mean it.
Con Safos.
