Did you know your gut and your brain are in a constant, bidirectional conversation? We often talk about stress as a mental game, but a massive portion of our body's neurotransmitters—the chemical messengers that regulate our mood, sleep, and stress response—are actually manufactured by the bacteria living in our gut microbiome.

When we feed our biome, we are quite literally feeding our capacity to handle stress.

What’s one vibrant, whole food you can add to your plate today to support your inner ecosystem?

07/03/2026

Ever feel like your brain is "offline" when your gut is upset? There is a neurobiological reason for that. 🧠✨

Welcome to the educational week of the Rainbow Vibe! In the video text, we talked about how your gut is a massive mood-chemical factory.
Here is how the foods we consume directly impact this system:

The Microbiome Message Center 🦠: The diverse bacteria living in your gut microbiome are responsible for breaking down foods and manufacturing key neurotransmitters like serotonin.

Signal Interference 📡: When we rely on a narrow, heavily processed diet, our microbial diversity shrinks. This can lead to gut inflammation, which actively interferes with the healthy signals your Vagus nerve is trying to transmit up to your mind.

Clear the Highway with Color 🌈: By intentionally shifting to a "rainbow" of diverse, plant-based whole foods, you are directly nourishing a healthy microbiome. A balanced gut means clean, clear communication traveling up the Vagus nerve highway—telling your brain that it is safe, stable, and ready to thrive.

You don't have to overhaul your entire life overnight. Just start by looking at your plate and asking where you can add one new color.

💬 What is one colorful ingredient you are inviting onto your highway today? Let me know below!

Remember: Your body already knows the way. Revive your rhythm, thrive every day.

You Are What You... Digest? 🤔

We’ve all heard the old saying, "You are what you eat." But if we want to talk about true nervous system regulation and vibrant energy, we need to take that a step further: You are what you digest.

Deep inside our system lives an entire ecosystem—a bustling microbiome of trillions of microbes that act as a second brain. When we are stuck in stress or burnout, our digestion takes a massive hit, disrupting the vital communication loop between our gut and our mind.

So how do we start shifting that rhythm? It doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. Building a supportive gut-brain habit can be as simple as changing your mindset when you prepare a meal, and as easy as tossing nourishing ingredients into a single pot. 🥣✨

🗓️ What’s Coming Up:

Next Week: We are diving straight into the fascinating science behind the Gut-Brain Axis and exploring how our nervous system relies on the microbiome to stay balanced.

The Following Week: I’ll be breaking down the exact, targeted benefits of the ingredients in this Rainbow Vibe Soup—and showing you how easy it is to bring this nourishing habit into your daily routine (with customizable options for everyone at your table!).

Get ready to give your system the supportive pause it deserves.

🐾 Head of Barketing Check-In: The Mindful Vibe Recap

Hello friends! Moose here, stepping out of the breakroom to deliver your Mindful Vibe recap. If you've been following along with our series this week, you know we've been diving deep into what it truly means to practice a "Mindful" rhythm.

🧠 Quick Paw-cast: What We Learned This Week

Interoception is Key 🔍: We explored your nervous system's built-in internal monitor. When stress or burnout takes over, that monitor goes fuzzy, making normal physical sensations feel like unexplained panic.

Meditation is a Workout 🏋️‍♂️: You don't fix a fuzzy monitor by forcing your mind to go completely blank. You train it by mindfully anchoring your attention to a physical sensation.

Find Your Movement or Stillness 🧘‍♀️: Whether it's shifting your physiological state with Mindful Yoga or systematically checking in via a Body Scan, true meditation is about meeting your body exactly where it is.

🧶 The Perfect Reflection Tool: 365 Mindful Loop Challenge

If your mind tends to race the second you try to sit still, your nervous system might be craving a tactile anchor. That’s where the 365 Mindful Loop Challenge comes in!

As you can see, I take my supervisor duties very seriously when the yarn comes out. The repetitive, rhythmic movement of crochet gives your hands a physical job to do. It naturally lowers your heart rate, calms a buzzing brain, and leaves you with a physical "receipt" of your mindful practice. It is the absolute perfect way to reflect on your daily rhythms.

📄 Coming Soon: Your Complete Getting-Started Guide!

The boss is currently behind the scenes modifying our master materials into a complete, step-by-step guide to help you kick off your own practice. Keep your eyes peeled—we will be sharing the Google Doc link right here very soon!

Until then, drop a comment below: Which meditation style are you trying out this weekend? 🧘‍♀️🔍🧶

Remember: Your body already knows the way. Re:Vibe your rhythm, thrive every day. 🤍

Meditation isn't a one-size-fits-all. (And it definitely doesn't require a blank mind!) 🧠✨

High stress blurs your interoception—your built-in internal monitor. When that monitor goes fuzzy, normal physical sensations can quickly start to feel like unexplained panic.

How do you fix a fuzzy monitor? You train it. And the absolute best workout for your internal monitor is meditation. 🏋️‍♀️

But true meditation isn't about forcing stillness. In fact, trying to force a blank mind when your nervous system is already buzzing can actually trigger your body's alarm bells even more. 🚨

Instead, meditation simply means anchoring your attention to a physical sensation. Depending on what your unique nervous system needs today, your best anchor might be:

🧘 Mindful Yoga: To gently guide your body out of a frozen, exhausted state through deliberate somatic movement.

🔎 Body Scans: To systematically observe physical tightness with curiosity instead of panic.

🧶 Tactile Anchors: Utilizing repetitive, rhythmic movements (like the 365 Mindful Loop crochet challenge) to lower your heart rate and anchor a racing mind.

The Bottom Line: You don't need to turn off your mind; you just need to know your body well enough to guide it back to safety. 🤍

Drop a comment below and tell me: which of these three "workouts" does your nervous system need the most this week? 👇

🧘🏼‍♀️ Practice makes… regulated. (No perfection required!)

Real talk: Life gets full, schedules shift, and sometimes our own wellness habits get pushed to the back burner. If your internal monitor is feeling a little fuzzy or high-stress this week, I have the perfect invitation for you.

This Sunday, my best friend Brittany is hosting a gorgeous yoga session—and it is the ultimate Mindful Vibe check-in.

If the idea of sitting perfectly still in meditation makes your nervous system buzz, this is your alternative workout. Mindful yoga uses gentle, deliberate movement to safely guide your system back to a place of safety and ease. There is no pressure to do it perfectly. It’s just about showing up for the practice.

I’m dropping the link to the event from the Shine website below! Grab your mat, honor your rhythm, and let’s practice together this Sunday.

🧠 Think meditation means "blanking your mind"? Think again.

If you have a fast-paced life or a high-stress job, the idea of sitting completely still in a silent room trying to force your brain to go quiet probably sounds less like relaxation and more like torture.

When your nervous system is already buzzing in a state of high stress, trying to force your mind blank can actually make you feel more anxious.
Here is the science-backed truth: True meditation isn't about turning off your brain. It's just a habit of training your internal monitor.

It’s about choosing a simple, physical anchor—like the rhythm of your breath, the stretch of a muscle, or even the tactile feel of yarn moving through your fingers—to gently pull your brain out of survival mode and back into the present moment.

It’s not an escape; it's a workout for your nervous system. And just like any workout, consistency matters way more than perfection.

This week, we are breaking down the Habit side of mindfulness. Keep an eye out for Thursday’s video, where I’ll be sharing three completely different styles of meditation so you can choose the exact "workout" your unique nervous system needs right now!

Until then, take a slow breath, check in with your body, and remember:

🪜 The Mindful Vibe: Your Interoception Check-in

In this week's video, we talked about Interoception - your nervous system's internal monitor. It's the ability to feel the physical signals your body is sending your mind.

But once you feel a sensation, how do you make sense of it? 🧠

We use a somatic tool called the Autonomic Ladder. By practicing metacognition (observing our internal state), we can figure out exactly where our nervous system is sitting right now.

Save this cheat sheet for the next time you feel overwhelmed, and check where you land.

🧘 Let's practice right now:

Take a slow, deep breath, scan your physical body, and ask yourself: Where am I on the ladder right now?

Are you in the state of safety, connection, and thriving? Are you feeling buzzing energy of panic, frustration, or high stress? Are you feeling heavy energy of exhaustion, numbness, or burnout?

There is no wrong answer, and there is absolutely no shame in being at the bottom. Recognizing it is the very first step to shaping it.

🩺Your Nervous System has an Internal Monitor...Are You Listening?

As a nurse, I spent time relying on monitors to tell me exactly how a patient is doing on the inside. But did you know you have your own internal monitor built right into your nervous system?

It is called Interoception (often referred to as our eight sense).

Most people think mindfulness is just about "quieting the mind," but neurologically, it's about tuning into this internal monitor. It's your ability to feel the internal signals of your body--like your heart rate, your breath, or that sudden knot in your stomach.

🧠The Science: Interoception vs Metacognition

Interoception is feeling the physical sensation. Metacognition is observing and analyzing that feeling so you can make a conscious choice.

Here's the catch: When you are trapped in deep burnout, chronic stress, or fight-or-flight, your metacognition goes offline. Your brain stops thriving and starts surviving. Without that higher brain connection, pure interoception just feels like unexplained, heavy anxiety.

Interoception is your bridge back. When you mindfully focus on a simple physical sensation, you re-engage your higher brain and start navigating your way back up the nervous system ladder.

🧘‍♀️Next week, we are breaking the down the habit behind the Mindful Vibe. I'll be showing you how a smiple meditation practice acts as the ultimate internal workout to sharpen your interoception, keeping you regulated no matter what life throws at you.

A message from our Head of Barketing... 🐾💼

Hi everyone, Moose here. I’ve officially taken over Sam's recording chair because, quite frankly, the boss has been working around the clock getting Re:Vibe & Thrive launched, and I felt it was time to step in for an executive review.

We just wrapped up our 'Pre-Vibe' educational series, and before we officially dive into The 8 Vibes next week, my corporate dog duties require me to make sure we are all on the same page. 📑

In case you missed the foundational science over the last few weeks, here is your quick couch-side recap:

The Vagus Nerve is the incredible, bi-directional highway connecting your body and your mind. True burnout recovery happens when we learn to send safety signals from the body up to the brain.

Neuroception is your nervous system's built-in, subconscious surveillance system. It is constantly scanning your environment for threat or safety, completely below your conscious awareness.

The 8 Vibes is the signature somatic toolkit Sam designed to help you step out of chronic agitation or shutdown, retraining your stress response through simple, low-stakes daily habits.

Next week, we officially kick off the series with The Mindful Vibe: Interoception, learning how to tune into our internal bodily signals.

Sam tells me that animals are actually natural master co-regulators for human nervous systems, so I take my job very seriously. Consider this picture your official weekend cue to slow down, take a deep breath, and rest.

See you next week for the main series!
