Slippery floors can be a bigger hazard for dogs than we realize, especially for senior dogs or those dealing with weakness, pain, or mobility changes.

Dr. Dawn Gleason recommends one simple change that can make a big difference:

“One of my favorite are yoga mats or runners in the house.”

She explains that wood, tile, and linoleum floors can be difficult for dogs to maneuver safely, even if we don’t think of them as slippery.

“Sometimes just putting a yoga mat around the corner can save a lot of slips and falls.”

A few strategically placed yoga mats, runners, or non-slip rugs can give your dog more confidence and stability as they move through the house.

Small changes at home can make everyday life safer and more comfortable. 🐾

Checking your dog’s lymph nodes at home can help you notice changes sooner. 💛

Use gentle pressure, compare both sides, and watch for nodes that feel enlarged, firm, or different than usual.

Swollen lymph nodes can have many causes, including infection, inflammation, and lymphoma, so any concerning changes should be checked by your veterinarian.
