DIVINE LIGHT WITHIN

Our tasks in life are the things we do to work toward the fulfillment of our life purpose. They arise from our individual family, community, race, culture, and world histories. What are we? What have we been? What should we become? There are things that make a strong heart weak, but we must follow our WILL.

Most people tend to delude themselves into thinking that freedom comes from doing what feels good or what is comfortable and easy. The truth is that people who float with the wind by following their feelings of moment are actually servants of desires. They are ill-prepared to act effectively when unexpected challenges occur.

Make it your regular habit to consider your roles and the natural tasks that arise from them. Once you know who you are and to whom you are linked, you will know what to do.

THE IMPORTANCE OF THE NAME IN AFRICAN CULTURE~

In African culture, a name holds significant importance and goes beyond being just an identifier,in African societies names hold significant importance they carry a deep cultural, ancestral and spiritual meaning. Unfortunately today many Africans have lost the essence of their real names because of European invasion, and the names attributed have nothing to do with the cultural roots of Africa.

Here are some aspects that highlight the importance of names in African tradition:

CONNECTION WITH THE ANCESTORS~
African names often reflect one's bloodline and family heritage. They are a way to connect with the ancestors and keep the memory of generations past alive. Names can be chosen to honor a specific ancestor or to convey a distinct family lineage.

EXPRESSION OF IDENTITY~
African names are an expression of personal and collective identity. They can reflect personal traits, significant events, aspirations, virtues, or cultural values. Names can also indicate a person's region of origin or ethnic affiliation, providing a sense of belonging and connection to their community.

SYMBOLIC AND SPIRITUAL MEANING~
Many African names have deep symbolic meanings. They can transmit desirable virtues, positive qualities, blessings or specific purposes in a person's life. Names can also be influenced by spiritual and religious beliefs, reflecting the connection between spiritual beings and the spiritual world.

TRANSMISSION OF KNOWLEDGE AND HISTORY~
African names are a way of conveying knowledge and cultural histories. Each name has a story behind it, which may be associated with historical events, cultural traditions, or African mythology. Through names, history and knowledge are preserved and shared between generations.

A CELEBRATION OF DIVERSITY~
Africa is a diverse continent with countless cultures and languages. African names reflect this diversity and are a celebration of the continent's cultural richness. Each ethnicity and region can have its own naming standards, reflecting Africa's diversity of ethnic, linguistic and cultural.

BOTTOM LINE, in African culture, names hold profound meaning and are a form of expression of identity, connection to ancestors, transmission of knowledge, and celebration of diversity. They play an essential role in preserving African culture and history.

ANCESTRAL WISDOM~

The best of our Ancients taught a doctrine of Self-Renewal. They taught that all beginnings have endings, and all endings are beginnings. Balance, justice and rightness is at the heart of living and life; this is Maat.

If we are going to construct our future free of forces that continue to choke the life out of us, we must not have slave remnants in our gatherings, ceremonies, events, etc.

The best of our Ancestors left excellent lessons of Self-Reliance and independence. We need to write and use our own sacred texts and stop using those written by others.

To have people believing that the only road to improvement is to rely on some external force, to uncritically accept one's lot in life--this is what many in our race promote. Just pray, just put it in the hand of the Lord and all will be alright. To know nature is to intimately understand the cycles of life in all its diverse dimensions. At its Best, this is wisdom which equals an understanding of science and spirit. But even more important of Self-Knowledge--Know Self, first. Be forever honest with yourself, and appreciate honesty, integrity, and hearty in others above all Else.

THE LIBERATION OF THE AFRICAN SPIRIT~

The Liberation of the African Mind/Spirit. We can't expect others to fight for our cause if we ourselves do not keep the cause at the forefront of our existence.

There is no way we can help Black Folks/Africans if we have no idea who we really are. We cannot lead other Black Folks/Africans anywhere if we ourselves do not know where we are going. We cannot expect others to maintain a moral steadfastness if we continue to lapse into actions that hinder our growth/Movement.

We must live African culture in our mannerisms, dress, diet, architecture, language, philosophy, and overall way of life. We have to be the Bright African Cultural Torch. Our example has to show others the way that they must go if they wish to create a better WORLD. Look to our African heritage, especially the earliest indigenous Nile Valley Civilization for answers to internal African problems first...
