Attention Viscardi Alumni! Join us for Viscardi Alumni Night on Wednesday, June 17, from 4–8 PM at the Museum of Disability History at The Viscardi Center. Reconnect with fellow alumni and former faculty while exploring the new museum and sharing memories with friends.

The $15 fee includes: museum admission, a sandwich wrap, and a beverage. The museum admission is free for Personal Care Assistants. Registration is required. Guests are responsible for their own transportation. Planning to attend? Please enter that day through the museum entrance which faces I.U. Willets Road.

More than 100 people with physical disabilities, advocates, family members, and allies gathered outside Gov. Kathy Hochul’s New York City office this month to protest the closure of Independence Care System (ICS), the only Health Home in New York State dedicated to people with physical disabilities. Organizers said that closing ICS will mean that adults with physical disabilities will lose access to expert disability-competent care management, wheelchair services, and Social Adult Day services that ICS alone has provided and that remain largely unavailable in the broader healthcare delivery system. Attention Alumni don’t miss our final practice! Join us tomorrow night from 6:00–7:30 PM in the HVS Gym for the last practice of the season as we gear up for the Games for the Physically Challenged Tournament on May 29.

All alumni are welcome. No prior experience needed! You don’t have to play to be part of the fun, come hang out, show your support, and bring the energy. Please arrive by 5:45 PM and enter through the HVS cafeteria entrance.

Reminder: Everyone is responsible for their own transportation and any PCA/nursing support if needed.
