I stand quietly in front of the mirror sometimes and really look at the person staring back at me.
Not just the face.
The story.
The lines from laughter.
The tired eyes that have cried more tears than most people will ever know.
The scars nobody can see.
And you know what?
I wouldn’t change any of it.
Not the heartbreak.
Not the failures.
Not even the storms that brought me to my knees.
Because every damn one of them helped create the person standing here now.
There were days I had no idea how I was going to make it through.
Nights when I wondered how much more one heart could take.
Moments when getting back up felt impossible.
But somehow…
I did.
Every time.
I wiped the tears away.
Picked up the pieces.
Dusted myself off.
And rose again.
Maybe bruised.
Maybe a little more guarded.
But always stronger.
I learned how to find light in dark places.
How to make peace with chapters I never wanted.
How to heal wounds I didn’t deserve.
And most importantly, I learned that I am far stronger than I ever gave myself credit for.
Sure, there are still days when life gets heavy.
I still cry.
I still wish sometimes that I had someone beside me to carry a little of the weight.
But needing love doesn’t make me weak.
I simply know now that I don’t need anyone to save me.
I already learned how to save myself.
So don’t look at me with pity because of what I’ve survived.
Look at me and see the warrior those battles created.
Everything I have fought for.
Everything I have healed from.
Everything I have become.
I earned it.
And I’m damn proud of that.
When I look in the mirror now, I don’t see someone getting older.
I see someone becoming stronger.
Wiser.
More peaceful.
More fearless.
I know storms will come again.
That’s life.
But those storms should remember something:
They’ve tried to break me before.
They failed.
I got this.
I always have.
And darling,
I always will.
Because I’m not dangerous simply because I’m strong…
I’m dangerous to anything that thinks it can keep me down.
Today, like every day before it,
I rise.
And I am unstoppable.
