Rio Grande Down Syndrome Network RGDSN was formed by a group of parents and families with children who have Down syndrome.

Join us on November 14, for an afternoon filled with family-friendly entertainment, outdoor hands-on activities, and farmyard fun designed for participants of all ages and abilities!

This is the first event RGDSN will host at Simmons Farm, a future site of programming and events for our community in the South Valley!

Activities for this event include

🍿 A special outdoor screening of Sheep Detective presented on a massive lawn screen right in front of the farm barn. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, picnic blankets and cozy blankets for a drive-in-style outdoor movie experience on the dirt.

🐴 Horse Care Experience (North Station): An interactive, hands-on opportunity with Tom and Elana Coleman in the stalls to learn about caring for farm horses.

🐔 Chicken Coop Activity: Participants can feed and observe the chickens and baby chickens

🎨 Sheep Arts & Crafts (East Station): Sheep-themed arts and crafts hosted near the sheep pen by Tim's Big Heart.

🍏 Apple Press Activity (South Station): Apple press to make fresh c***r!

RGDSN will host a Dad’s Day Out October 24, at Simmons’ Farm, a property in the South Valley, that we will be using for future programs and events.

We will use this time to help with repairs, cleanup, and painting. We will also bring refreshments and lunch.

📆 When: Saturday, October 24

🕐 Time: 10AM-1PM

What: We will repair fences, paint fences, do general cleanup, and other maintenance needs to prep the farm for our future events with RGDSN!

Fall is the perfect season to share a good story with good friends. Make plans to join us next weekend for the Fall 123 Storytime at Los Duranes Community Center 2920 Leopoldo Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87104. Storytime will be in a beautiful setting with a nearby park and the colors of the bosque.

11am - Jiggle and Jam - music and movement for infants and toddlers.
11:30am - Fall and Spooky stories for all ages
12-1pm- Fall-themed crafts and snacks

Fiesta for The Lucky Few Balloon means connecting with friends from all over the world! This year RGDSN was represented in Dawn Patrol and Flight of Nations with the crew going up with friends from Wales. 🇬🇧 🇺🇸

You still have time to check out the hot air balloon in action. They'll be launching from L4 on the Fiesta field.
