We kept a rich espresso base and wove in ultra-fine ribbons of merlot, copper, and warm red tones to create that glow-from-within effect. In some lighting it reads soft and natural… in others, it hits with bold, fiery dimension.

❔️Balayage VS Foilage - What's the difference and what is best for your desired look?

Balayage is hand-painting in open air for that soft grow-out and super-natural effect. Contrast is usually pretty gentle, has a very soft root grow out, and can absolutely get brighter towards the ends.

Foilage combines Balayage AND blended painting with foils—whether micro-highlighted, tipped-out, or woven to soften the roots—it creates a hugely dimensional yet still super soft result.

We love, love both at the salon, but I almost always lean toward foilayage. It’s versatile, it can lift to higher levels, and adding microlights in targeted areas creates that extra-blended effect that hand-painting larger pieces just can’t achieve.
