πŸŒ€πŸ‘ Did You Know? Emergency Preparedness Starts at Home

Did You Know?

Hurricane season and severe weather can create unique challenges for individuals receiving care at home.

Being prepared before a storm arrives can help keep you and your loved ones safe.

βœ… Keep a list of medications and emergency contacts readily available.

βœ… Have at least a 3-day supply of medications and medical supplies.

βœ… Charge phones, medical devices, and backup batteries.

βœ… Keep flashlights and extra batteries easily accessible.

βœ… Know where to go if evacuation becomes necessary.

βœ… Stay informed by monitoring local weather alerts.

At Ivy Creek Home Health, we encourage patients and families to have an emergency plan in place before severe weather strikes.

πŸ’™ Being prepared today can make all the difference tomorrow.

πŸ’§ National Hydration Day | Ivy Creek Home Health

Stay Hydrated. Stay Healthy. Stay Independent.

Did you know dehydration is one of the most common reasons older adults end up in the hospital? Even mild dehydration can lead to dizziness, weakness, confusion, headaches, falls, and urinary tract infections.

This National Hydration Day, Ivy Creek Home Health encourages everyone especially seniors and those managing chronic health conditions to make hydration a daily priority.

πŸ’™ Tips to Stay Hydrated:
βœ” Keep a water bottle within reach
βœ” Drink water throughout the day, even if you’re not thirsty
βœ” Eat water-rich foods like watermelon, cucumbers, oranges, and strawberries
βœ” Limit excessive caffeine and alcohol
βœ” Watch for signs of dehydration such as dry mouth, fatigue, dark urine, or dizziness

For patients receiving home health services, proper hydration can support healing, improve energy levels, and help prevent avoidable hospital visits.

Healthy hydration starts at home.
