"My role is to support neuroscientists within a language research lab. I collaborate with a team exploring areas such as brain stimulation. I provide insight as a SLP to help with the design and implementation of aphasia studies using treatments like phonomotor. I also spend time administering language assessments, and keeping up on the latest aphasia research. I hope you liked learning about a SLP working in research!" 🚨 April is Stress Awareness Month and people with aphasia and their care partners have some unique challenges that can exacerbate stress.

• Communication barriers
• Social isolation
• Time pressure
• Financial strain
• Navigating healthcare systems

🤝 Building a strong peer network through participating in aphasia groups and caregiver support groups can help reduce isolation and ease anxiety. SLPs have a unique role and Aphasia Access has the resources and education to help us learn about all the ways we can support our clients navigating the journey.
