As we wrap up National Nurses Week 2026, we want to shine the spotlight on two incredible members of our team — Lori Francis, RN and Jason Exelby, FNP.
At Louisiana Cardiovascular & Thoracic Institute and Diabetes Relief of Louisiana, these two are much more than healthcare providers. They are trusted leaders, encouragers, problem-solvers, and familiar faces our patients genuinely look forward to seeing.
Lori, Director of Diabetes Relief of Louisiana, brings compassion, leadership, and dedication to every patient interaction. Her kindness, calming presence, and famous “cackle” have become a beloved part of our clinic family. In addition to her leadership role, Lori is helping expand our metabolic and longevity clinic within the practice. She is certified through the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M), owner of Y’all Be Well, and recently completed her second year of Family Nurse Practitioner school at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Her passion for continued learning and commitment to innovative patient care are evident in everything she does.
Jason Exelby, FNP, is known not only for the exceptional care he provides, but also for the humor and office antics that keep our team smiling even during the busiest days. His ability to connect with patients and coworkers alike makes a lasting impact every single day. Jason is dual-certified as both an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner, specializing in cardiovascular care and wound management. He also holds additional certification in hormone and peptide therapy, bringing advanced expertise and compassionate care to every patient he serves.
Both Lori and Jason put in long hours with unwavering dedication and smiles on their faces. Their hearts for patient care, commitment to excellence, and positive energy help make LACVT and Diabetes Relief of Louisiana the special place that it is.
To Lori and Jason — thank you for your compassion, your laughter, your hard work, and the countless lives you touch each day.
Happy National Nurses Week!
