💪 PUSH-UPS ARE MORE THAN A CHEST EXERCISE.

A properly performed push-up trains your chest, shoulders, triceps AND core while teaching your body to work together as one strong unit.

Why does that matter? 👇

✅ Builds upper-body strength
✅ Improves core and shoulder stability
✅ Supports better posture and movement control
✅ Can help build the strength and stability needed to reduce certain movement-related aches and discomfort
✅ Makes everyday movements like pushing yourself up or carrying things easier

But here’s the key: form matters.

If push-ups hurt, simply forcing more reps usually isn’t the answer. You may need to adjust the exercise, improve your technique, or strengthen the areas that are limiting you.

That’s exactly why we focus on correct movement + progressive strength training at HBR Personal Training.

Want to get stronger, move better, and stop guessing what exercises are right for your body?

🔥 YOUR BODY DOESN’T MOVE IN ISOLATION—SO WHY TRAIN IT THAT WAY?

Think about everything you do throughout your day. Sitting down, picking something up, pushing a door, pulling luggage, or reaching across your body.

Most of it comes back to a few basic movement patterns:

🟢 Squat — sitting, standing, climbing stairs
🟢 Hinge — lifting something from the floor
🟢 Push — pushing doors, strollers, or objects
🟢 Pull — pulling luggage or something toward you
🟢 Rotate — reaching, throwing, golfing, or turning

Functional training strengthens these patterns so everyday movement becomes easier, stronger, and more controlled.

At HBR, we’re not just training you to perform better in the gym. We’re building strength you can actually use outside of it. 💪

👇 Comment STRONG if you’re ready to build functional strength with 1:1 coaching.

You don’t have to start with a full handstand to train for one. 🤸‍♀️💪

A regressed handstand lets you build the strength, stability, and confidence needed for the full movement—without jumping straight into the hardest version.

💪 Builds shoulder and upper-body strength
🧱 Challenges core stability
⚖️ Develops balance and body awareness
🔥 Builds confidence being inverted
📈 Creates a progression toward a full handstand

Regression isn’t going backward. It’s meeting your body where it is and mastering each step before progressing.

Good training isn’t about doing the most advanced exercise—it’s about choosing the right variation for YOU.

Comment “STRONG” if you want to build strength with a plan that meets you where you are.

⚖️ Weight loss doesn’t have to be complicated—but you do need to understand energy balance.

🍽️ Calories IN = everything you eat and drink.

🔥 Calories OUT = what your body burns through your metabolism, daily movement, workouts, and digestion.

When your goal is fat loss, you generally need to consume less energy than your body uses over time—creating a calorie deficit.

But that DOESN’T mean starving yourself or spending hours doing cardio. ❌

The goal is to create a sustainable approach that includes:
💪 Strength training
🥩 Enough protein
🚶 Daily movement
🥗 Balanced meals
😴 Proper recovery

At HBR, we focus on helping you build habits you can actually maintain—not another quick-fix diet.

👇 Comment “BALANCE” if you want help creating a plan for losing fat while building and maintaining strength.

💪 DON’T NEGLECT YOUR BACK!

A strong back does more than help you lift heavier—it supports almost everything you do.

Back exercises help you:
🔥 Improve posture and upper-body stability
💪 Build strength for pulling, lifting, and carrying
🧍 Support better movement and body control
⚖️ Create balance between your pushing and pulling muscles
📈 Build strength that carries over into everyday life

Your back is a major part of your foundation. Train it to help your entire body move stronger and more efficiently.

At HBR, we’re not just training muscles—we’re building stronger movement for LIFE.

You don’t have to give 100% every workout to make 100% progress. 💪

The goal isn’t to leave every session exhausted—it’s to train consistently, recover well, and keep showing up. Sustainable effort beats burnout every time, because the workouts you can stick with are the ones that create lifelong results. 🔥

Your hips and core aren’t separate systems—they’re designed to work together. 🔥

Your hip abductors and obliques help stabilize your pelvis and trunk, especially during single-leg and side-to-side movements.

Training them together can help you:

⚖️ Improve balance and single-leg stability
🧱 Build better core and pelvic control
🦵 Keep the hips stable while you move
🚶 Improve control during walking, running and stairs
🏋️ Build a stronger foundation for exercises like lunges and step-ups

Think about walking: as one leg leaves the ground, your hips and core have to work together to keep your body controlled.

Strong movement isn’t about one muscle doing all the work—it’s about muscles working together as a system.

Comment “STABILITY” if you want to build better strength and control.

You don’t need to keep every muscle tense for your entire workout. 👀💪

Good training isn’t about being stiff from start to finish. It’s about knowing when to create tension and when to release it.

🔥 Brace when you need stability or to produce force
😮‍💨 Relax unnecessary tension between reps and sets
🎯 Let the muscles needed for the movement do their job
🔄 Move with better control instead of fighting your own body
💪 Save energy for when you actually need it

Constantly gripping, shrugging, clenching, or bracing harder than necessary can make movement feel more difficult and may cause other muscles to compensate.

Strength is being able to create tension AND release it with control.

Comment “CONTROL” if you want to learn how proper form and intentional movement can improve your training.

🔥 Calories aren’t the enemy—they’re ENERGY.

Your body needs calories every single day to move, think, train, recover, and even sleep.

The goal isn’t to eat as little as possible. It’s understanding how much fuel your body needs and choosing foods that support your goals. 💪

Whether you’re trying to lose body fat, build muscle, or simply feel stronger, understanding calories is one of the first steps toward taking the guesswork out of nutrition.

At HBR, we help you build a nutrition approach that actually fits your body, your goals, and your lifestyle.

👇 Comment “CALORIES” if you’re ready to stop guessing and start building a plan that works for you.
