Getting a facial is only half the battle. What you do in the 48 hours after your treatment plays a massive role in your results. Because your skin is freshly exfoliated and your pores are open, it is extra sensitive and needs a little extra care.
Save this post to reference after your next visit, and remember these key rules:
🟢 The Do’s:
• Protect: Apply your SPF daily without fail. Fresh skin is highly susceptible to sun damage!
• Be Gentle: Cleanse with a mild, non-stripping cleanser.
• Hydrate: Drink plenty of water and use a simple, nourishing moisturizer to lock in hydration.
• Maintain: Keep up the momentum by scheduling your routine facials every 4 to 6 weeks.
🔴 The Don’ts:
• Hands Off: Avoid touching, scratching, or picking at your face.
• Let it Breathe: Skip the heavy makeup for at least 24 hours to prevent clogged pores.
• Pause the Actives: Put a temporary hold on strong exfoliants, retinoids, or harsh acne treatments for 48 hours.
• Stay Cool: Avoid hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and intense gym sessions for 24 hours to prevent irritation.
