First and foremost, the safety and wellbeing of our customers is always our number one priority. We have been made aware of the situation regarding a missing piercing needle. We take full responsibility for this and don't deny this completely unacceptable and reckless mistake. The piercer was fired immediately for not only losing a needle, but for her poor treatment of this client. Upon finding out about this situation, the owner immediately called the client to check on her wellbeing and offered to pay for any medical expenses if they were needed.
Wicked Ways opened in 2001, 25 years ago. From 2001-2007 the studio owner pushed for a state wide ordinance regarding tattooing in order to make the industry safer as there was no ordinance at the time. Since the ordinance was adapted in 2009, Wicked Ways hasn't had any health code violations at any of the studios. Customer safety has always come first and will always be first. Wicked Ways started the tattoo and piercing sales 4 years ago to promote a remodel of one of our locations. Upon popular demand, we continued them monthly. We have done over 120,000 piercings and over 10,000 tattoos at these sales over the years without an incident like this and we take pride knowing that we provide sterile and safe body art procedures at a highest standard. Due to this recent situation, we will be stopping our monthly sales and will be only doing occasional special events in the future.
Most importantly, we apologize for this situation and hearing that this happened at one of our locations was disturbing. We take this very seriously and will do everything we can to prevent this from happening in the future. We appreciate your business and loyalty.
