Lately, I've felt this pressure that if I'm going to show up here and talk about health and wellness, I need to be the perfect example of it.
But that's not what I believe. And honestly, that's not who I am.
I love health and wellness. I love taking care of myself… eating whole, real foods, moving my body, and feeling strong.
But I also love fries.
And w**e.
And spontaneous dinners out with friends where I don't spend the entire meal thinking about what's on my plate.
Recently, I saw something that said, “Is it really your dream body if you have to worry about it constantly?" And that stuck with me.
Because the goal was never perfection.
To me, health isn't about earning your food or always choosing the healthiest option available. It's about creating habits that support you while still leaving room for life.
Some days that looks like a colorful salad packed with vegetables and protein. Other days it looks like a burger and fries on a patio with people I enjoy being around.
Both belong in a healthy life.
The older I get, the more I realize that some of my favorite memories have nothing to do with how healthy the meal was.
They have everything to do with the people around the table.
So maybe if I'm going to show up here as an example of anything, it shouldn't be perfection.
It should be balance.
A life that's healthy, yes.
But also one that's full.
