We see it all the time. Someone comes in thinking they “just need stronger rehab”… but their knee/shoulder pain is coming from a different source.

Non-surgical options fit best when we sort the pattern first:

1) Is your pain worse with stiffness/limited mobility?
2) Does it feel like your joint can’t trust you (instability/control)?
3) Is it triggered by overloading, too much too soon (load)?

Book a non-surgical consult so we can match the right treatment plan to what we find on exam.

That “same spot” ache after work? We see it all the time and the pattern matters.

Try the “24-Hour Pattern Flip” check:

Write where it’s most noticeable (sit, walk, sleep).
Note whether it changes after the next night of sleep and a light morning routine.

Persistent, load-tied pain often points to mechanical drivers.
Night/rest-based patterns can suggest recovery or inflammatory involvement.

Bring your notes to Regen Ortho for a surgery-free, regenerative assessment.

What pattern are you noticing right now?

“Will this hurt?” “When can I bend/squat?” “How do I know it’s working?”

We’ve seen these exact questions land on our table before anyone even starts, so we matched our regenerative orthopedics education to each fear.

And the milestone that steadied everything?
Sitting-to-standing without help is proof that the plan was working, step by step.

If you’re not sure what you should expect (or what to ask), we’ll walk you through it.

Think nerve pain is a mystery you just have to live with? Think again. 💡

In this clip, we're breaking down the biggest myths patients believe about nerve pain — including why "just take stronger pain meds" isn't the answer.

✅ The #1 myth: that nerve pain can't be understood
✅ The overlooked symptom: loss of function (like difficulty with stereognosis)

✅ The truth about pain meds: not all are proven effective for neuropathic pain

If you've been struggling, there's more hope than you think. 🙌

That “first pull” when you stand? It’s not random.

Try the “3-Question Posture-to-Pain Check” (film it or note it):
(1) what position you instantly avoid,
(2) where you feel the first “pull” when you stand from sitting,
(3) the one day that improved most.

What your clues suggest:
Mechanical overload = flares with certain positions.
Tissue recovery = slowly improves over days.
Inflammation = worse after rest.

Reply in comments with your 3 answers (A/B/C). We’ll help you spot the pattern—then decide what to do next.

“Before you choose surgery or PT, ask this: what’s your pain’s ‘pattern’?”

Here’s a quick checklist we use to tell mechanical vs inflammatory knee/shoulder pain:

Mechanical-leaning signs:
- Worse with movement, stairs, lifting, or getting up
- Feels tight/achy during activity, may ease with gentle rest
- Localized pain with certain motions

Inflammatory-leaning signs:
- Worse after rest or in the morning
- Morning stiffness that lasts and loosens as you move
- Can feel “all over” or more persistent

At Regen Ortho Center, we match the pattern with a focused exam and imaging to identify the most likely pain driver, then build a non-surgical plan that fits your body (not a generic protocol).

Save this before your visit.

Ask 3 things: tissue, mechanism, and progress beyond pain.

1) Which tissue is failing?
Tendon, cartilage, or muscle and what we’re trying to restore.

2) What regenerative mechanism is planned?
Signal/inflammation modulation, or a more structural rebuild. (I.e., what you expect the therapy to do.)

3) How will we measure progress?
Not just pain, function and a symptom timeline you can actually track.

Regenerative medicine can be different from traditional care, but the plan should be clear.

Ever feel a sudden tightness, pulling, or muscle spasm and wonder where it came from? It might be spasticity, and it shows up more often than people think.

In this Brain Check, Dr. Deitrick Cox of Regenerative Orthopedic Center sits down with neurologist Dr. Mitzi Williams and exercise physiologist Cherie Love, founder of Shades of a Mess, to break down what spasticity really is, the everyday triggers most people miss, and why stretching at home is a game changer for your brain and body. 🙌 Two weeks post-PRP and the wins are showing up.

Loved this honest update from Tabitha Brown, 14 days after her PRP injection for hip pain following labrum tear, hip dysplasia, and bursitis surgery. A few things she's already noticing:

Her limp has decreased significantly

She was able to roll onto her right side in bed for the first time in 4 years

This is exactly why we love PRP. It's not an instant fix. Most patients start feeling real changes around the 3-week mark and continue improving for months as the platelets stimulate your body's natural healing.

⚠️ One thing she bravely shared that we want to echo: PRP and steroid injections can occasionally cause unexpected side effects (she experienced prolonged bleeding). If anything feels off after a procedure, call your doctor. You know your body best.

👉 Tabitha is not a patient of Regen Ortho Center, but her story is a great window into what PRP recovery can look like. If you're living with joint pain and wondering if regenerative medicine is right for you, we'd love to talk.

💉 What does PRP actually look like?

We came across this great share from Tabitha Brown walking through her PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) procedure for hip pain, and it's such a clear look at what patients can expect.

Here's the quick version:
1️⃣ A small blood draw from your arm
2️⃣ The blood is spun in a centrifuge to concentrate the healing platelets
3️⃣ Those platelets are injected, guided by ultrasound, directly into the injured area

That's it. One small bandage, a few days of rest, and your body's own growth factors get to work.

👉 Tabitha isn't our patient, but her experience mirrors what we do every day at Regen Ortho Center for hips, knees, shoulders, and joints suffering from chronic pain or slow healing.
