June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month. 🧠💜

This month is dedicated to raising awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, while also highlighting the importance of brain health at every age.

Alzheimer’s is a progressive disease that affects memory, thinking, and behavior. However, early recognition and support can make a meaningful difference for patients and families.

Let’s take this time to support those impacted, honor caregivers, and continue learning about ways to protect and strengthen brain health. Together, we can bring more awareness, compassion, and hope to those affected.

Lipedema vs. Lymphedema: What’s the difference? 🦵

These two conditions are often confused, but they are distinct disorders that affect how the body stores fat and manages fluid.

Lipedema is a painful buildup of fat that typically affects both legs and sometimes the arms. It can cause tenderness, swelling, and discomfort.

Lymphedema, on the other hand, results from a disruption in the lymphatic system, leading to fluid buildup and swelling in one or both limbs. It may develop after surgery, infection, or damage to lymph nodes.

While they may sound similar, understanding the difference is important for proper diagnosis and treatment.

If you’re experiencing persistent swelling or discomfort, talk with our Vascular team to get the right evaluation and care.
