The weather is absolutely perfect today!

The kind of day that practically begs you to play hooky and head to the beach.

Darlene and I wouldn't have blamed you one bit.

But this morning, you chose your mat instead.

You chose to carve out an hour for yourself.

your choose your friends at our studio.

You chose movement.
Connection.
A deep breath.
A few laughs while shaking in locust & Darlenes imaginary beach ball exercises.

Darlene's card pull for our Tuesday morning class couldn't have been more fitting:

Some days strength looks like tackling a to-do list a mile long.

Some days it looks like asking for help.

And some days?

It looks like showing up to yoga, exactly as you are, even when the beach is calling your name.

As we celebrate **Friends & Family Month** at The Yoga & Fitness Loft, we hope you'll invite someone you love to experience this community with you.

This morning, Darlene and I got a text from one of "our people."

You know the kind. The clients who come regularly for a season, then life happens. Health stuff. Grandkids. Travel. The million things that pull women in a hundred directions. They disappear for a while... and then a card shows up in the mail. Or they pop into your inbox. Or they text to say, "I haven't forgotten you."

This client was actually one of Darlene's very first students when she started teaching nights at The Yoga & Fitness Loft. They've been through a lot of life together since then.

The funny thing is, if you saw her out and about, you'd think she was the picture of health. Hiking. Vacationing with friends. Keeping up with her husband and grandkids. But she's also been navigating dizziness and some back issues that make it hard for her from seat to stand. Some days are better than others. She's been working hard on her strength and especially her balance.

After reading my email about Julie, she sent us this:

"I miss you and your staff. You are always on my mind to get to a class. Unfortunately, my body is fighting me. Live each day to the fullest. Keep on dancing and singing as loud as you can. I'll be back to the studio one day soon."

And I'll admit it... I got a little teary… Darlene too.

Because this is what our community looks like. It's not perfect attendance. It's not handstands. It's not showing up at your absolute best.

Sometimes it's just staying connected while you navigate whatever your body is asking of you.

And when you're ready, knowing the door is still open.

It's Friends & Family Month here at TYFL. If you've been thinking about inviting someone to join you, this is your sign. Bring the friend who's been saying, "I really should do something for myself." Bring your sister. Your neighbor. Your walking buddy.

I often feel like writing studio emails is basically an emotional Hokey Pokey.

I put my whole self in.

Then I think I've put too much in and shake it all about.

I put my whole heart in there because, in a world full of AI everything I want to write something real. Something that matters to our studio community. Something that makes you laugh, think, feel seen, or maybe just reminds you to come back to your mat.

and it takes forever. . .

after agonizing over each word I sent tonights email only to discover that somehow... I'm not even subscribed to my own studio emails. 🤦‍♀️

So if you didn't receive tonight's email, **"Julie Needs This,"** there's a good chance you're not subscribed either.
