đ The NFL is back tonight â and while the focus will be on what happens on the field, thereâs another important part of the game worth talking about.
The NFL and NFLPA recently announced a new Behavioral Health Network designed to expand access to confidential mental health care for current and former players and their eligible dependents.
The network will provide access to behavioral health providers across every NFL market, along with support finding providers, scheduling appointments and navigating benefits. Covered outpatient services will have no charge or coinsurance and no limit on visits.
As NFL Vice President of Wellness & Clinical Services Dr. Nyaka NiiLampti shared:
âOur priority is to remove barriers to care and ensure that members of the NFL community can quickly identify and connect with trusted mental health providers.â
As another NFL season begins, itâs encouraging to see mental health being recognized as part of athlete health â not separate from it.
The game is back. And so is the conversation around taking care of the people who play it.
