Question of the Day:

What is the best advice another amputee ever gave you?

Sometimes one conversation, one tip, or one honest piece of encouragement can completely change someone’s mindset.

Maybe it was practical advice.
Maybe it was emotional support.
Maybe it was simply hearing, “You’re going to be okay.”

Let’s share some wisdom that could help someone else today.

Question of the Day:

What’s your biggest summer struggle as an amputee?

Sweaty liners?
Socket fit changes?
Heat rashes?
Beach sand everywhere?
Swimming?
Shorts season?
Trying not to melt by noon? 😆

Summer can be amazing, but amputees definitely deal with some unique challenges this time of year.

Let’s hear yours in the comments.

One of the most important parts of being an amputee is taking care of your skin.

Cleaning your liner regularly and making sure it is completely dry before wearing it again can make a huge difference in keeping your residual limb healthy.

Sweat, bacteria, and moisture can quickly lead to skin irritation, odor, rashes, fungus, and even wounds if you are not careful.

A clean liner helps protect your skin, improve comfort, and keep you moving without unnecessary problems.

Stay clean. Stay healthy. Take care of your skin... because once skin issues start, they can become a major setback.

Mental health matters.

A lot of us learned how to be physically strong. We learned how to push through pain, adapt, keep moving, and tell people we're okay.

But sometimes we forget to take care of what's happening in our minds too.

Being strong doesn't mean pretending everything is fine all the time. It means knowing when to talk, when to lean on people, and understanding that asking for help isn't weakness.

You are not alone.

What helps you on the tough days? Drop your thoughts below and let's support each other.

Throwback to when Dr. Dave came up from Tennessee to spend some time with us while we worked together with Blatchford to create an athletic training prosthesis.

One of the coolest parts about the prosthetic world is seeing clinicians, manufacturers, and amputees come together to solve problems and help people stay active.

This project was all about movement, performance, and helping create opportunities for amputees to keep pushing themselves physically.

A lot of teamwork, creativity, and passion went into this one, and it was awesome having Dr. Dave here with us for the process.

Question of the Day:

What’s something you’ve accomplished as an amputee that you’re really proud of?

Big or small, it all counts.

Maybe it was taking your first steps again.
Going back to work.
Playing sports.
Traveling.
Becoming more independent.
Or simply making it through a really hard time.

Let’s celebrate some victories today. Drop yours in the comments.

3D printing in prosthetics is a really interesting topic, and honestly, I don’t think there’s one perfect answer.

I think 3D printing can be great. The technology is impressive, and in the right hands, it can absolutely help create amazing outcomes for amputees.

But at the same time, I think a lot depends on the prosthetist using the software.

How educated are they?
How good are they at making modifications digitally?
How well do they truly understand socket fit and anatomy?

Because at the end of the day, the software is just a tool. The experience, knowledge, and skill of the prosthetist still matter most.

A great prosthetist using traditional methods can create amazing results. A great prosthetist using digital tools can too.

What are your thoughts on 3D printing in prosthetics?
