Happy International Nurses Day! 💙🩺

Today, May 12th, we pause to celebrate the incredible men and women who have chosen one of the most selfless professions on earth — nursing. It's a career that calls for more than skill. It calls for heart.

To be a nurse is to show up — not just physically, but emotionally — for people on the hardest days of their lives. It's holding someone's hand when they're scared, advocating for a patient when they can't speak for themselves, and staying calm in moments of chaos so that others don't have to be. It is equal parts science and soul.

We, at FERNS, are so deeply grateful to walk this path. There are days that are long and heavy, days that test every ounce of your strength — and then there are the moments that remind you exactly why you chose this. A patient's smile. A family's thank you. The quiet knowledge that you made a difference.

Nursing isn't just what we do. It's who we are. And today, we are proud to stand alongside every nurse around the world who pours their whole heart into caring for others.

To my fellow nurses — you are seen, you are valued, and you are so incredibly important. 🤍

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and it serves as an important reminder that sexual violence is a reality that impacts far too many people. Bringing awareness to this topic helps break the silence, challenge harmful stigma, and encourage conversations that lead to support, prevention, and healing.

At FERNS, we believe awareness is more than just recognition — it is action. It means listening without judgment, meeting survivors with compassion and respect, and working to ensure they have access to the support and resources they deserve.

This month, and every month, we stand with survivors and remain committed to fostering awareness, support, and meaningful change in our community.

Our team had the opportunity to attend a recent charity event supporting Engedi Refuge, an organization serving women impacted by trafficking.

This work is deeply aligned with the mission of forensic nursing — recognizing, responding to, and supporting individuals affected by violence.

We are proud to support organizations like Engedi Refuge and the critical services they provide within our communities. ❤️

Thank you for having us Engedi Refuge Ministries!

At FERNS, ongoing education is fundamental to maintaining excellence in our forensic nursing practice. 🙌🏼

Two members of our team have now completed training in Medicolegal Death Investigation (MLDI) through Saint Louis University.

This training strengthens our ability to navigate complex cases, document findings with precision, and collaborate effectively with medical examiners, law enforcement, and legal teams.

We are proud to continue expanding our expertise and supporting our communities across multiple areas of forensic care. 😊
