First APEX | ATHLETICISM IS THE SPORT™️ in the books ❤️🔥
10 years ago, I walked off the lacrosse field for the last time as a Division I athlete
And while the athlete in me never left, somewhere along the way, my relationship with sport changed
I’ve spent the past decade helping other people discover what they’re capable of. Coaching, teaching, educating, and encouraging others to step outside their comfort zones, and reminding them that they’re capable of more than they think
And that’s what makes APEX so special. It’s given athletes another opportunity to compete, challenge ourselves, and fall in love with the process all over again
A chance to push ourselves, to learn and relearn skills,, and experience the nerves, excitement, and vulnerability that come with putting yourself out there
And what a gift that has been
Of course I wanted to perform well. I’m a competitor at heart, and I don’t think that part of me is ever going anywhere
But the biggest takeaway had very little to do with the results
It was about the process. The people. The willingness to be uncomfortable, have fun, and to remember why we all fell in love with sport in the first place. Unreal watching all of the incredible athletes come together and just demolish their goals
So grateful to TIM RILEY, the coaches, athletes, and people who made this experience what it was. Impeccable event from start to finish 🫡
