For so many autism families, seeing Bradley Riches join Emmerdale as Lewis Barton is more than just a television role it’s a powerful reminder that our children deserve to be seen, heard, and represented.
Bradley, who is autistic himself, was diagnosed at the age of nine and did not speak until he was ten. Today, he is using his voice to help tell authentic autism stories on one of the UK’s biggest television shows.
As parents, we know how important it is for our children to see people who look like them, think like them, and experience the world like they do. When autistic individuals are given the opportunity to tell their own stories, it breaks down stereotypes and shows the world that autism is not a limitation it is a different way of experiencing life.
