Farley's Place has officially arrived in Todd County!

We are excited to be Todd County's first dedicated hearing health clinic.

Our mission is simple: provide local hearing healthcare services so our neighbors don't have to leave the community to get the care they need.

You can find us in the heart of Elkton, located in the former Elkton Church of the Nazarene:

To celebrate our opening, we will be offering complimentary hearing screenings to the community:

• June 23 - 25, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
• June 29 - July 2, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

We also invite you to join me at the Todd County Public Library on June 26 at 11:00 AM for a free presentation on hearing health, with complimentary hearing screenings immediately following the presentation.

As our community celebrates our nation's 250th anniversary at Elkton's Independence Day festivities, Farley's Place will be hosting a Grand Opening Open House on July 3 from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM.

Whether you're concerned about your hearing, curious about hearing health, or simply want to stop by and meet us, we'd love to welcome you.

May is Better Hearing Month!

Had a stellar weekend here at Ft. Richardson servicing another Army Reserves unit.

Keeping our service members up to date on their hearing helps ensure they stand ready to go when the wolf is at the door.

There is some incredible technology that uses sound already.

Cool tool! And cooler communication access!

Good news for those who have ABLE account through STABLE Kentucky!

ABLE today is excited to announce a partnership with Communication Service for the Deaf (CSD) on a new inclusive tool that will significantly expand ABLE outreach to the Deaf and hard-of-hearing (D/HH) community through American Sign Language (ASL).

D/HH community members can access the service by visiting www.abletoday.org and clicking the “ASL Chat” box at the top right of the homepage. From there, users are directed to the CSD site, where they can connect with an operator trained to answer questions in ASL and provide resources for all ABLE programs.

For nearly a decade, I went back and forth on whether I should even attempt this.

It was partially because I didn't care, but another part of the equation was actually the opposite.

This isn’t the kind of test you can just study for and pass. There is no study matetial. It’s completely competence-based. You either know how to do the work… or you don't.

I mostly found the idea an annoyance, and that made it easy to keep putting off.

But over time, I realized something.

The point isn’t the certification itself. The point is being able to serve people better. Especially in something as important as hearing. Communication, relationships, even long-term health are all tied to it. And what says trust to new potential patients more than holding a national board certification?

So I finally took the step.

I took my National Board Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences exam.

And I’m excited to share that I passed on my first try.

I’m looking forward to continuing to learn, grow, and help people stay connected to the conversations and people that matter most.
