Cindy and Vic’s R & R, Inc, is a person-centered organization that supports adults who experience

Cindy and Vic’s R & R began in 1999 when Cindy Hensley and Vicki Cellers were special educators in the Anchorage School District working for the Adult Community Transition Program (ACT). Cindy and Vic became aware that over the summer many of their students lacked access to active community engagement and they wanted to find ways to help their students stay productive, learning, and active in thei

r community. Cindy and Vic also saw a gap in these kinds of services for students after graduation. Today, Cindy and Vic’s R & R, Inc, serves over 60 individuals and has over 30 staff. They have a year-round day hab program and a fall and winter evening program. Cindy and Vic’s has group homes and provides respite, in-home, and supported living services. Cindy and Vic’s R & R employs high caliber professional staff that includes teachers, counselors, occupational therapists, recreation specialists, adaptive physical education teachers, and college students. There has been little staff turnover in the 15+ years of the program. Cindy and Vicki believe in creating a family environment in the workplace and with our clients that fosters camaraderie, caring, learning, and fun!

Our Thursday evening group fanned out around town for dinner at Moose's Tooth, then a visit to the downtown street fair! Blue skies made it all the better!

Morning and afternoon groups on Wednesday spread out all over town, with some discovering a new coffee place and outdoor trails while others ate at Moose's Tooth and then visited with some pups! It was a great day all around!

A couple groups sang a happy birthday song to our recently retired staff Kelly. She loved it! And it may be the influence of DSP Nicole to the group, but dancing was also a big part of their day!

Our Friday group stayed busy all over town between morning walks at the Midtown Mall to a great luncheon birthday party at Beary Cool Yogurt and finally visits with animals at both PetSmart and the center!
