A quick moment to brag about our team. 💙

This past month, our Care Coordination team exceeded expectations, completed key projects ahead of schedule, and continued showing up every day with dedication, compassion, and excellence for Alaskans affected by Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.

We also know how to celebrate the big moments in life 🎉🙌🏼 This month, we celebrated birthdays, work anniversaries, and welcomed a very special milestone as one of our team members became a grandma!

At Alzheimer’s Resource Alaska, our culture is built on supporting one another while serving our community. We are incredibly grateful for the people who bring their talent, heart, and commitment to this work every day. Thank you to our amazing team for making ARA such a special place to work and for helping us make a difference across Alaska. 💙

🌈 Last week, our team took a break from the busy workday to gather for a special Rainbow Lunch, and it was exactly the kind of connection we all needed.

At Alzheimer's Resource Alaska, we know that supporting our communities starts with supporting one another. No matter how busy things get, we make time to strengthen our culture, build relationships, and enjoy moments that bring us together. This colorful lunch brightened more than just our plates. It brightened our day.

A special thank you to Rob for the idea and for making sure work talk stayed off the menu! It was a great opportunity to slow down, share some laughs, learn more about one another, and enjoy a little creativity together. We're grateful to be part of a team that values connection, collaboration, and having fun along the way. 💙

Melody Daniels and Dustie Wilson, care partners for their mother Kaye, are sharing their story so more people in their community can learn about the disease. They want their family, friends and neighbours to recognize symptoms so they can get an earlier diagnosis, which would help them access support and help ensure people living with dementia are safe.

As we reflect on National Indigenous History Month, we encourage you to learn more about the Wilson family’s story at alzbc.org/IndigenousResources.

🌼☀️ Just in time for Alaska’s beautiful summer weather, our Anchorage office is getting a fresh new look!

This morning, members of our weekly Mind Matters class rolled up their sleeves and helped plant flowers and greenery outside our office. Spending time in nature and engaging in activities like gardening can support brain health by reducing stress, encouraging physical activity, and fostering a sense of purpose and connection. We are so thankful for our Mind Matters clients who helped make our space a little brighter and more welcoming for all who visit. 💙

At Alzheimer's Resource Alaska, we believe that connection, creativity, and community are essential to living well with dementia.

That's why we're bringing a special one-time Forget Me Not Chorus + Memory Café to the Mat Su on June 23 at Wasilla Area Seniors, Inc.. This gathering will bring together individuals living with Alzheimer's disease, related dementias, or memory loss, along with their care partners, for an afternoon of music, conversation, and meaningful connection.

Research continues to show the positive impact music can have on mood, engagement, and quality of life. Through the Forget Me Not Chorus and Memory Café, participants can experience the joy of singing, sharing stories, building relationships, and being part of a welcoming community where every voice is valued.

We invite you to join us as we celebrate the power of connection and create a space where people affected by dementia can come together, find support, and experience belonging. Join us on June 23, 2026 at 12:20 PM at the Wasilla Area Seniors, Inc.

💙 What does community mean to us?

Community means more than where we do business, it’s who we show up for. It’s listening, supporting, and standing alongside the people and organizations that make Alaska feel like home.

Through our recent FHLB Des Moines donation match, we proudly supported six incredible organizations serving Alaskans across the state because when our community thrives, we all do.

Community isn’t just something we’re part of it’s something we’re committed to.
