🧩💪 Pulling for Progress! 💪🧩
Who says therapy can't be an adventure?
Today, this awesome kiddo used a pulley system to pull puzzle pieces across the room while balancing on a BOSU ball! As he collected each piece, he was building so many important skills:
✨ Core strength and postural control
✨ Balance and body awareness
✨ Bilateral coordination
✨ Motor planning and problem-solving
✨ Hand and upper body strength
✨ Attention and persistence
Once all the pieces were collected, the challenge wasn't over—the puzzle still had to be put together! 🧩
Activities like this keep kids engaged while helping them develop the foundational skills needed for success in everyday life. And the smiles make all the hard work worth it! 😊
💙 At Play Skills Pediatrics, we make therapy fun, meaningful, and full of opportunities to grow.

🌈 Big Skills Start with Play!
Simple activities like balancing during play and creating crafts can help children build many important developmental skills.
Through activities like these, kids are working on:
✨ Core strength and postural stability
✨ Bilateral coordination
✨ Fine motor strength and precision
✨ Hand-eye coordination
✨ Visual attention and focus
Even something as simple as a rainbow craft with glue and pom-poms helps strengthen small hand muscles, improve finger control, and build coordination needed for skills like writing, cutting, and self-care tasks.
The best part? Kids feel like they’re just playing and creating, while their bodies and brains are developing important skills.
Shout-out to our local Discount Dollar for this fun rainbow craft activity at a great price! 🌈

✨ OT Tip Tuesday ✨
Does your child struggle with transitions or big emotions?
Try a simple “first/then” visual to help them know what’s coming next!
🧠 Example: “First snack, then playground!”
Visual supports can make a world of difference in helping kids feel safe and in control.

Hard at work and play!
This little one is practicing fine motor skills while laying in prone—that’s belly-down on the floor!

Why prone play?
Laying like this helps build shoulder stability, core strength, and postural endurance—all of which support better fine motor control for tasks like buttoning, writing, and cutting.

In OT, we love combining movement and muscle work with fun, goal-driven activities—because that’s where real progress happens!

One flower, many skills.
